City's Famous Old Town
Jun 2020
Narrow winding streets which have remained since medieval time, make this Old Town magical. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared for some steep, quiet and beautiful streets. Very pedestrian friendly since many streets are too narrow for current automobiles. Take your camera, the views are gorgeous.

There are signs that more is yet to build. Things looked on hold. It is ok now. After new build, it will look uglier

Unforgettable experience with my family! The view to the sea, the old town and new town has so much to offer! The local are with lots of restaurants and coffee shops! Very colourful streets and some old architecture. Highly recommending to visit this place!

Tomorrow's Ocean Gala Dinner in Monte Carlo will be held in a tent - courageous or careless? Many locals are misinformed on #COVID19 #MonteCarlo #travel #gala #dinner #Monaco #fondation #Covid_19 #coronavirus

Old Town
Feb 2020 • Solo
This is Manaco’s old town, situated atop a hill - adjacent to the Prince’s Palace. The area is full of narrow, winding streets. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and boutiques. The views overlooking Monaco and Port Hercules are incredible. Not far from the Oceanographic Museum are the ‘apartments’ of several Royal Family members. Be sure to visit the Monaco Cathedral while you’re up here. The walk up is definitely a work out. Otherwise, buses ply the area.

Amazing views, peaceful gardens, & a sense of history
Sep 2019
We've been to many European medieval hill villages, fortresses, and walled cities. Nothing compares to Monace. Not that it's the best, per se, but it is the most unique and you catch yourself just saying "wow, I am really here!" Old Monace, on the mesa top of the "hill," is a very quiet, peaceful, and small area with a few shops and restaurants but is dominated, appropriately, by the palace, the cathedral, and the perfectly proportioned and lovely peaceful gardens on all sides with terrific coastal views.
The walk up the hill is extremely easy and there are several different paths you can take. The main lane is softly stepped and goes up from the harbor / port area ending through the gate and onto the main plaza with the palace to your left. Straight ahead there is a garden with views to the south and west, and to your right behind you is a great viewpoint of the whole of "new" Monaco with the glittering lights of the casino, hotels, high rises, and mega yachts.
it's a very special place worthy of a nice exploring walk.

Stunning views !!

A wonderful experience to overlook the magnificent harbour. It is well worth the effort to gain height to secure those memorable vantage points and capture them on your camera.

The old town of Monaco, situated on top of a hill with great views of the Mediterranean and the "new" Monaco below is a must when in Monaco. You will find the Cathedrale Notre-Dame-Immaculee, the Royal Palace, good view points, narrow alleys with lots of small shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants as well as great architecture. Buy a gelato, look at the changing of the royal guards and just stroll around for a bit. It's a nice contrast to the glitz of the new parts of town with the casino etc.

Take the walk from the Palace to the Casino!!!!
Sep 2019
If you are in good shape start at the Palace and follow the red path all the way down the hill....take a walk around the marina...then up the other hill to the casino. It's so much fun to see all the fancy cars and gigantic yachts. When you go back you can choose to take the stairs up the hill and walk through the gardens. There are free public toilets there as well!!!! Overall it's a fun walk...very safe as there are police every where. It really lets you get a quick overall of the city and it's a really good exercise!

Quite a walk up hill.
Sep 2019
There are a few paths but views well worth the effort. You could take the yellow tourist train but there are benches and views all along the way so take your time. Going through the historic wall ruins romantic. Old town lovely narrow streets and places to visit. Step back to Hollywood and romance.
