An 11th Century Bazantine church in the Troodos with amazing paintings. Completely worth going out of your way to see, but be sure it is open or you know where to get the key from!

St Nicholas church with two roofs, built in 1025, Byzantine church with beautiful old frescoes from 11th, 12th, 13th and 17th century. It used to be a monastery but its a church now. Not far from Troodos centre, definitely worth a visit.

This is the only surviving 11th century Byzantine Church in Cyprus. It's located near the Kakopetria village on the Troodos mountain range. It's covered in murals, some dating back to the 11 century. For more information you can visit the Cyprus Tourism Organisation web site:...More

Beautiful church and very popular tourist spot. The murals really are worth visiting. Check opening times as we tried to go on the only day it is closed!

Lovely old church with unusual double roof built to protect the wonderful artwork which adorns all the walls inside the church . The artwork dates from the 11 century to the 17 century.

If you find yourself in the Kakopetria area, then take the short drive to this little church just to see the ancient painted Byzantine interior. There is a large car park close by and entry is free.
