We loved Avakas Gorge! The full hike is for experienced hikers but we did the first part only (returned same way), and this is a easy hike. I was there with a 9 years old but there were many younger kids around. I read a lot about the unpaved road. This was the situation in May 2017: The beach road... More

We walked in Avakas Gorge. It is a nice walk in nature along the Canyon. There are water running along the gorge, and you have to be very careful not to slip. We were also wormed to be careful because there could be snakes on the way. The place is nice and impressive. We walked about an hour on each... More

We have visited the gorge on the 30th of April. We chose to start our walk at 4:45pm to avoid the hot hours of late April. It took us 1 hour to walk the gorge with stops for pictures. A confortable walk even for untrained visitors even kids over 8 years old. A beautiful one hour activity.

We researched the gorge on the internet and used Waze to find it. That was a mistake as we ended up approaching the site from the landward side down a rough track which became extremely steep and rough. We eventually parked up and walked the remaining couple of steep miles to discover that there is an easier route to the... More

Visited here one weekend, it was recommended to me by a friend. This place is stunning. The initial start to the gorge there is a footpath so accessible to pretty much anyone but be warned, once you enter the gorge there is no footpath what so ever and the further into the gorge you walk, the walk will become a... Just a short drive from Paphos the Avakas Gorge is nice for those nature lovers who like going off the beaten track! There is a car park when you first arrive which looks like the main car park but there is further dirt road that you can drive along which takes you up to the beginning of the gorge walk.... More

One of the highlights of our trip to Paphos! It's not a terribly strenuous hike if you're looking for a serious workout, but if you're looking stretch your legs a little and get some great pictures, it's perfect. Make sure to bring water though, as it gets pretty hot on the walk out and in!

Unbelievably breathtaking views. U need a Jeep or 4 wheel to be able to get there without being a wreck. We got there late and couldn't go all the way to the gorge can't wait to go back and see that

We've been up here twice. Went further up to the end this time as on quad safari last time you can only go to where it gets narrow and miss the adventure. The only disappointment is that there's no big waterfall at the end. We will definitely do the 7 hour walk out of the gorge and round next time.... More

We were on a 4x4 'beach' buggy adventure day out and were taken to the gorge by our guide. The gorge walk was a stunningly awesome way to spend an hour of exploration and exercise. The walk is across very rocky and slippery paths and a stream and therefore is not suitable for those who are not fully able and... More
