Very nice park to look at the city and let the kids get tired

This park is built around the Mudam and is worth a walk as it shows the former military protection of the city with a very nice view on the city. Further, the kids love it as... read more

This new museum is not desperately exciting inside, but it's certainly an impressive building viewed from the outside. There is a lot about military history, which was rather dull. The section about sovereignty on the top floor was interesting, however.

The three turrets are decorated with three acorn-shaped sculptures, built 1732 . There are permanent exhibition; The fortress 's history parallels the country's which is illustrated by more than 600 objects and original documents covering events from the conquest of the city of Luxembourg by th e Burgundians in 1443 etc. An animation, projected on an impressive bronze model, explains... Leave yourself the time to linger and read/watch about the Gibraltar of the north! Lovely museum and surrounding park. Kind staff. Free with Luxembourg card! Well worth the visit!

One of the very well restored outposts of the city's defenses. Very well organized small museum complete with ancient arms and armor exhibits and subterranean tunnels. The views from the roof are also spectacular. Lots of fun for children. €8 family rate gets 2 adults and 2 children in. Kind of far from the downtown, so only worth a visit... More

We could not visit the museum because of the time we arrive there, but we walk from there to the town and it was a really nice experience. The landscapes were awesome!!

it is a great trip to visit the Kirchberg area with all the modern office buildings, the modern art museum and next to it this place. Great view from the lawns around it.

This museum is not 'a patch' on the MHDV - the city museum - yet it is the same entry price. The displays are interesting and each casemate relates to a particular time period, e.g. casemate 4 covers the period 1714 to 1814. It's not really that important but the staff were not so welcoming as at MHDV. I almost... More

If you have boys that love anything military, shooting, artillery, swords, uniforms, guns, canons and forts, this is the ultimate sight. It also appeals to the adults with a penchant towards history, as the fort that was turned into a well-organized, well planned-out museum, offers countless artifacts, original letters, military uniforms, paintings, weapons and memorabilia related to local Luxembourg history.... Hiked up from the valley floor which requires some effort but with good views. The fort appears in great condition but what really makes it worth the stop is the contents of the museum. Most of the details are in French or German but the maps, the plans, the books, and armor, and the weaponry are first rate and very... More
