This is the main museum of Luxembourg. It has several expositions, archeological, historical and arts. The permanent ones are for free. It's in the middle of the old town. A must go if you are interested in history. You can spend hours here, even days... For the history of Luxembourg city there's another one with great maquettes of the old... More

When you see a modern building you do not expect that it is connected to the row of old city houses, with glass walks over a street. Inside there is good exposition on Roman influence with great mosaic, interesting construction of defender wall and then just the rest of the history. I really enjoyed the objects of everyday life, how... More

Free public museum. The history part of the museum was fascinating and contained items related to the establishment of Luxembourg, from prehistory to the middle-ages. The only downer was that all of the exhibit information was in french. However, they did have free english audio guides but these did not tell you about 75% of the exhibits. If you were... More

This museum is situated in the heart of Luxembourg City and contains several different enthralling exhibits (the majority of these are free to view). Archaeological finds from the country are documented and explained (the museum itself is even built into the remains of an ancient site). Further to this, Luxembourg's more contemporary history, and evolution of its utilised currency are... More

A comprehensive collection of art and history. We had very little time and did not do this museum justice to really take it in, but what we did see was good

We hadn't planned to go anywhere in particular on our visit to Luxembourg and was recommended this Museum by a member of staff elsewhere. I'm really glad we went and it was a perfect rainy day activity to keep us in the warm while we were in Luxembourg. I was really impressed with the building itself and how it is... More

The MNHA is a compact museum displaying art and artifacts of Luxembourg. The main building is organized around a beautiful central courtyard. The lowest levels start with pre-historical periods (naturally) and are built over medieval foundations (protected behind glass). You then work your way up through the centuries, from the Roman era through the Dark Ages and into the medieval... More

What an incredible museum. This newly built and reconstructed museum was finished in 2002. There's a large new wing that's connected to several old townhouses that you can also tour. I loved it. There's tons to see here. Many of the reviews here are confusing this museum with a smaller museum that is under renovation. Ignore those reviews.. this is... More

For starters two of the most recent reviews below on exhibits being closed are for the WRONG MUSEUM. The city history museum is closed until May 2017 (save for a temporary exhibition of football). The national museum on the other hand is very open with an incredible collection of artifacts from prehistory to the Middle Ages (with a particular emphasis... More
