We couldn't find the Palace at first as it was sorta tucked in amongst other buildings surrounding it. It actually was difficult to get some good pics of it, but still, a beautiful building!

Beautiful Architecture

Built in 1572, Luxembourg's palace houses the Grand Duke's office. The turreted palace is a lovely example of architecture. Tours were not running in winter; however, it was worthwhile to see the beautiful exterior.

Is a Flemish Renaissance style palace of the 16 th century and residence of the Grand-Duke's in town; A majestic interior you can visit in summer month, also guided visits from July to September

This is my post covid19 tour experience exploring the Palais Gand Ducal on July 11, 2020. It felt liberating to explore Luxembourg as they are very much open to tourists despite the pandemic we are experiencing now.

Normally you can only visit the palace from the outside, in summertime there usually is a period during which visits of the interior are organised.

Beautiful building serving as the residence of the Duke and Duchess

Luxembourg is a Grand Duchy and is part of the EU. It is a country with 600,000 people. Luxembourg is also the city name of the capital with 120,000 people. The palace is the city residence of the Grand Ducal family including the Duke, Duchess and their children. Parliament is next to the Ducal Palace where the Duke and Duchess reside.
Originally the building served as the town hall, but it was destroyed in 1554 and rebuilt. The Parliament was built as an annex in 1859 and the Duke has used it as a city residence since 1890.

The Grand Ducal Palace is situated in Old Town. It is also the home to the Grand Duke. Even when I visited there was a sign outside the main entrance saying that the Grand Duke and family, are currently there. Of course one couldn't enter. But you can regale at it's beauty and grandeur from the outside. There's a amazing bookstore just before you make the turn for the Palace and some good restaurants in the promenade too. You can get inside tours of the Palace in the summer from July until the end of August.

Hello! Last year, the entrance to the Palace was from July 14 to September 02. Ticket for adult cost 12 euros, for children 6, under 4 years free. All questions should be addressed to Luxemburg City Tourist Office -place Guillaume II 30.

As it is than already May and the tourist seasons started, I am sure it will be open for the routine visits. It is a small palace, but it looks great! Enjoy this small but beautiful capital city and don't forget the posh main shopping streets! Best regards, Conrad
