The hike to the lighthouse is beyond breathtaking. Make sure you do it, but be careful of sudden gusts of wind when walking on the ridges near the lighthouse (the ones where you will need to cross to take the iconic photos)

My girlfriend and I planned our vacation to the Faroe Islands with a purpose of seeing the Kallurin Lighthouse to celebrate a special occasion, given that this is one of the most iconic sites on the Islands. Upon arrival at the Tourist Information center this...More

Visited Kalsoy today and wanted to put it out there that there was no charge for the walk to Kallur lighthouse. I'm not sure what was meant by the previous review but there were plenty of people visiting the area and no sign that there...More

Kalsoy is easily reached by ferry from Klaksvik. The main attractions are a fairly easy hike to Kallur lighthouse for breathtaking views, and a quick glance at the bronze sculpture Kopakonan by the ocean in Mikladalur. Driving (or bicycling) through the five single lane tunnels...More

Kalsoy is a perfect daytrip in the Faroes. Take the car ferry from Klaksvik and drive through the four (unlit, one-lane, kinda scary) tunnels to the northern tip of the island. From there, hike to the Kallur lighthouse (it's an easy hike, maybe 45 minutes)....More

We were lucky to get reasonable weather (not raining) on our planned trip to Kalsoy. From our hotel window at breakfast we could see cars lining up for the morning ferry very early, so we headed there about half an hour early and were the...More

On the most miserable wet day of our marvellous week in the Faroes, we decided to venture on to Kalsoy to see the marvellous Seal Woman sculpture on a rock at the base of the small village of Mikaldur. The ferry from Klaksvik is only...More

We absolutely LOVED our visit to Kalsoy. We walked to the lighthouse then had stunning weather on our drive back to the ferry. Only wished we'd had more time here.

Please, do visit this place. Its a easy walk for about 60 minuts from Trøllanes. There are some small hills, but do this in slow speed, and you will make it.
