Not much market, but lovely city

There was no market in evidence when I was here during the last week of February, so it has either moved or closed. Still, the street makes for an interesting exploration, being somewhat quieter and less touristy than neighboring Republican Street, especially with the Carnival in full swing. Lined with shops and restaurants of all descriptions and with beautiful architecture... More

It's as beautiful and big as the sister street republic but with less people on it , I personally having to push a buggy preferred that one instead. Loads of shops and eateries but know that the market moved to a different place

Making this street pedonestale is one of the best thing for Valletta... one can really enjoy walking around and admiring the buildings .. without the cars and the street market.. the place shows off more of the architecture and interesting buildings. A nice place to dine in summer out door.. watching life goes by while savouring delicious foods .. loads... More

I rambled around the market such as it was for a very short period of time before exploring a little further afield in this little history steeped gem of a city. The views of the Grand harbour are spectacular, and it's a joy to lose ones self in the myriad of tiny streets. Large number of restaurants and bars to... More

Have been there on 19th or 20.th of September 2016. Market has moved to Ordnance Street (near the bridge/Burger King at the bus terminal and entrance of Valletta). There have been only a few shops left (About 5-6 or 7). Very small. Also have been on Open Market at Marsaxlokk on Sunday what we ever do. It's much better. But... More

I loved wandering the streets of Valletta, even on a Sunday there were still plenty of people and open shops. A few nic restaurants and beautiful views to all sides. The old beuildings are amazinf and there is a great vibe!

Not worth a special visit as it is, for the time being, moved as others have said. Very limited now. Hoping its just temporary although suspect it may be due to the cafe and bar owners wanting the space as they are now using most that was used by the market.

We visited Valletta and tried to find this daily market. We got a map from tourist information and it showed the market to be in the lower end of merchant street. We walked down that way but no market ?! We began ambling back up the street we noticed a flimsy sign saying the market was in Ordnance street( Triq... More

Closed for renovation Arrived on September 6th 2016 and went off to buy some fresh produce only to discover it is in the midst of being improved. We were so disappointed.

The market has now moved. It is opposite Parliament Buildings. If you arrive by bus, go over the bridge, pass the shops and cafes on your left and it is by The Ordnance Pub. It is smaller than it used to be. Cheap underwear, a few clothes and not much else. Certainly not food, gifts or souvenirs, if that's what... More
