Make your waiting for the bus more pleasant :)
May 2019
Interesting collection of old toys from all around the world. Museum is running by nice old couple, they also tell you some information about special pieces. You can pop in while "waiting for a bus" - the bus stop is right next to museum.

This is a very small museum lovingly run by a very helpful gentleman, he is quite happy to talk to you about any one of his lovingly preserved toys, it was amazing to see some of these toys still working. If you want a trip down memory lane or maybe want to know what your great great grandma might have played with as a child then this is a must for you

My son (13) and I popped in on our way back to the farmhouse. €4.30 entry fee for us, a nice guide sheet in English, and away you go.
To be honest, it is interesting.....but as it's only on one floor and consists of approx 10-12 cased exhibits......your not going to spent any longer than an hour at the most in here.
Some items for sale at the entrance area, some old and some new.
Worth a visit but don't expect too much.
I thank you.

Going back in time

We spent about an hour and a half going through the various antique toys displayed in this museum. We were lucky (as we were the only visitors at the time) to have a guided tour of the museum by the Maltese person in charge of the museum. Some of the items reminded me of the toys I had when I was a boy. The place has potential yet the display areas need to be refurbished as they look rather messy and dusty.

Fantastic! Although a very small museum and indeed in what looks like a house - it kept my grown up children interested as reminded them of time spent with their Grandad, who loved Edward Lear and "Pobble who has no toes" and them sharing the books and poetry- Edward Lear lived in Xaghra for many years and much of the exhibits are connected to his poetry. Well worth the small entrance fee - in fact we left a bigger donation, because we felt the entrance fee was too small!

Quite weird but worth the couple of coins it costs

This museum does not brag with huge display areas or thorough explanations of the items. In fact, it is actually rather messy and un-organised and some of the items are a little freaky! But is is a nice curiosity of a little village and I do recommend to go.

Much more interesting than you might think!

We took two young boys 4 & 7 and they were fascinated by the collection. I was also fascinated to learn the history of Edward Lear in Gozo

The real Toy Story....
Sep 2015 • Family
This is a private collection of a British expat living in Gozo. It is a short visit so if you have kids along it would be an eye opener on how the older generation used to pass the time playing with toys that did not come with a battery or an electronic screen!!!!!

Small and quaint

more of a corridor of toys really - a small private collection of old dolls and other toys that will take up an interesting 30 minutes, especially with kids. No interactivity - just old-fashioned glass cases for an old-fashioned and quaint exhibition.

Interesting collection

A fantastic little gem. The museum was very interesting. The experience was enhanced by the very knowledgeable lady that showed us around and was able to explain the background to the exhibits. A small entry fee is payable, but it was very good value for money.
