We saw the Citadel from the bus station and it was only a 10 minute walk . It’s free entry and you can walk around 360 . If you want a magnificent view of Gozo then go here .

An oddly too-clean historic site, which has obviously been tidied up and ‘modernised’ for visitors. Worth a visit for the scale of the place, plus some nice touches like the historic House and the Old Prison, which are included in the entry fee, but couldn’t...More
I have been here several times over the past 30 years and it never fails to impress. The entrance has been improved in the last 18 months. The views are truly stunning and the sense of history is immense. Enjoy, it’s one of Gozo’s wonderful...More
Fascinating, you feel like you are stepping back in time. As you walk around, it is a strange feeling to think the whole city was encapsulated here. The views are also amazing and if you really want to see everything there is a lot of...More
This is the most impressive place I have seen for some time. Loved just walking around the wall and soaking in the vista. Magnificent.
Outstanding place with wonderful views. Great opportunity to take post card like photos. Explore the history and marvel in the amazing architecture.

If you are doing more than a bus day trip around the island (and you should), you should make The Citadel your first stop. The structure itself is nicely restored and, for a fort, pretty. The views are magnificent. You can see much of the...More
Were accompanied by kids and did not enter inside the visitor's centre or the cathedral. We just walked along the ramparts. Great atmosphere and exceptional views of all of Gozo.
