This basilica was entirely handbuilt by mostly local people from 1920-1931. The building materials were quarried virtually next door to the site. The craftsmanship inside is amazing and beautiful. Most of the carvings were done just prior to the visit of Pope John Paul II....More

Please dress decently or else there are fabrics at the entrance. I visit this sacred place each time I visit Gozo. It provides an intimate engagement with the Mother feminine spirit, Our beautiful Lady, who resides in each and every one of us.

The size of this cathedral and the masonry work are truely impressive. It's main distinctive feature is inside and consists of hundreds of framed letters, photos and babies outfits along the walls. These are all sent in by people asking for their prayers to be...More

Whilst on our quad bike tour we was taken to this splendid church where in the past a miracle was performed. Pope john Paul has given mass here. The inside is stunning as is the building its self. Although we didn’t get time to see...More

So far the next best church after St. John's Co-Cathedral. I love the room where lots of people displayed their own stories of miracles. I love this church.

A most beautiful church with a seperate campanile. It just looks awesome sitting in splendid isolation. Its intetior is pehaps outshone only by the Baroque splendour of St.John's co - cathedral in Valletta. Ta'Pinu is easily reached by local bus from Rabat bus station.

A beautiful church with a story. The mosaics outside are wonderful. This was one of my favourite churches on my visit to Malta and gozo

The mosaics outside are really quite beautiful, while inside don't miss the shrine of items from those who have been "healed" at this site - you can find them at the back of the church, to the left of the altar - bizarre, but inspiring!

Really worth seeing. I only found this as it's on the way to a friend's house! Lovely views all around too.

This is one most beautiful churches/basilics/cathedrals on both Gozo and Malta. I was there on a very windy day around 5pm and the service was about to start. Treat this place with the utmost respect. Be sure to visit the outside as well with the...More
