Well if you like handmade jumpers or cardigans or pretty much any type of clothing this is worth a visit. Of course items are pricey but fantastic quality. Alternatively if you are a knitter then just buy the wool - all local and naturally dyed...More

OMG if you love knitting don't miss this amazing shop. The assistant was so helpful sorting me the wool for 2 jumpers at half the price I'd pay in the U.K., and a fraction of the cost of buying it ready made. She reckons I'll...More

I don't really have the budget to buy a full-on Icelandic sweater, but I have a nice ear-warmer and excellent mittens from this place. The products are high-quality, the staff is friendly, and everything is handmade locally in Iceland. It's not cheap, but the goods...More

It's a small store with many great sweaters. However, they are very expensive. I know they are handmade but it seems like a lot. I ended up getting a nice sweater from another store that was from Iceland but not hand knitted. If you're committed...More

I thought that a visit to the Handknitting Association would be one of the highlights of my recent trip to Reykjavik. However, the shop was somewhat of a let down. The knitwear is not well displayed and is similar to what I saw in shops...More

The yarn, sweaters and trinkets are very high priced. There are lots of places to get the same stuff.

This is the only place I would buy my pure Icelandic wool. These are real Iceland wool products made by local people. I have done my research and most stores sell wool products made in China. The prices are a little expensive but worth having...More

I did an 11 day road trip in Iceland and completed the ring, I searched in many stores in the many little towns around Iceland and none came as close as the hand-knitting association, the jumpers are of top quality and amazing selection. First impressions...More
