Hunting the northern lights from the ocean is an amazing experience; sailing away from the coastline of Reykjavik, seeing the aurora borealis on the North-Atlantic Ocean with beautiful mountains and the city lights in the background is something you won't forget. Free pick-up, warm overalls and free hot drinks are provided. This tour is highly dependent on correct weather conditions and therefore we reserve the right to cancel if the circumstances are not favorable.

We went out on the boat and it was a great trip with an experienced and knowledgable guide. However, we only saw 5 Minke Whales and a few porpoises, none of which offer much in the way of excitement. The flyers all show Humpback whales leaping around, which is a bit disingenuous. However, if you feel a musical connection with... More

We went early am at 9am for the Whale watching and then got off to do a 12:30pm Puffin tour. The whale watching tour only had 10-15 people so it was great for us to run from side to side to see the whales without any crowds. We saw minke whales, and a big pod of dolphins who were by... More

Me and my girlfriend went on a whale watching trip when we visited reykjavik this month. It was amazing! The scenery was beautiful and the journey to the whale feeding grounds was lovely. We saw some minke whales and porpoises, and were lucky enough to see a humpback who stayed near the boat for a long time. The guide (Jonathan)... More

Went both days on 14 and 15 April. That's basically the last tour of the season! Could see the aurora but the colour was pretty faint. On the final day, the captain together with Jonathan allowed us a great view of the Aurora as it took longer for it to appear and they decided to sail a little longer for... More

Wow, what a magical experience! We were so lucky to see the Northern Lights and were treated to beautiful poetry and melodies by a crew member! Our tour guide Jonathan did a great job explaining the Northern Lights and pointing things out to us. Also, have to give a shout out to the customer service representatives who answered my emails... We were a little nervous about whether we would be cold - but the company supplied everybody with special expedition suits for staying warm and safe. The boat was shipshape and seaworthy, and everyone on the crew was kind and helpful. Best of all, the narrator, Jonathan, took extra care to direct our gaze where we could see the most,... More

Hello, and thank you for your review! We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed your tour with us and were able to see the lights. The first thing you should know about whale watching -- a lot of it is up to the Gods and luck. But both were with us on our trip. We had many sightings of Minke whales and one who playfully swam around our boat, up and back, left to right. Our guide said it was highly unusual behavior but said... More

Hello, and thank you so much for your lovely review! We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed your tour with us. This was a special tours for us as well. Minke whales are usually not so curious and do not get as close to the boat as this one did. They also typically do not spy... More

The company did a nice job of managing the tour, and the principal guide, Jonathan, was engaging. But the experience of freezing cold, late night (10-midnight) and less than spectacular display (though it was described as "above average") left me feeling underwhelmed, at least in light of the $99 x 2 fee for us to have this experience. At least... More

Hello, and thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your tour with us. The northern lights appear differently on every tour, and we never know beforehand how the evening will be, nor can we guarantee sightings as they are a naturally occurring phenomenon. On evenings where the lights do not appear or... More

They get you far enough from the city lights to give you a good chance of the lights. We were lucky and they showed up our night. Beautiful trip and got to see the last night of the Imagine Peace Tower since we stopped near Videy Island. Great guide that told stories and provided info throughout the trip. Food and... More

Went on this tour alone. For the first while I didn't feel sick but I was bored. There was no commentary for a long time. Eventually we stopped when some dolphins were swimming around the boat. I had taken sea sickness tablets but at that point I felt so sick I had to go inside and lie down. Nobody in... More
