Up on embassy row across from the hospital the cathedral is on a large block of property. Not the largest cathedral it is very inviting inside. More elaborate than the other two cathedrals in town. It has an active community and an adjacent school.

Definitely worth visiting, especially for Catholics. Very strong impression at top of hill, 10 minute walk from downtown Reykjavik. Quiet neighbourhood. Beautiful inside. Almost as impressive as Hallgrimskirkja.

I like churches but I'm not particularly religious. I also went to Hallgrimskirkja. It's good to be ecumenical. It's pretty archecture/decor inside and out. Easy 5 minute walks from town center....say a prayer at each to your version of a god.

On the church grounds is an very interesting sculpture. You must get relatively close to get the full impact . Architecturally, the church itself is worth a quick stop.

This roman Catholic church was impressive although not as elaborate as some and had a commanding position on top of the hill behind the embassy area . The grounds were not well maintained but it was an interesting place to visit.

This oldest Church of Reykjavic looks very modest at the outside but is very rich inside, especially whn compared to the other lovcal Protestant Churches.

This is a Catholic Cathedral in Reykjavik that was built in 1929. Fairly plain inside and I do like the design and detail outside. Note: you can easily see this cathedral from the top of Hallgrimskirkja.
