Wow, we were entranced by the Opera House. It is so impressive, so unusual, and so captivating! We went during "daylight" (dead of winter) when it was snowing, and then returned in the darkness (early evening after dinner). Worth going twice, as the lighting interacts with the glass and creates reflections. They turn on decorative lights after dark, which adds... More

I only had 1-2 hours in downtown and consider this a must see. You can go inside as well. Nice gift shop and seems to have rotating exhibits. It has a cafe serving food and drinks. The architecture is worth a visit inside to really appreciate it. It is on the water and a short walk from the Solfar (Sun... More

We stopped in and looked around. They have a really cool gift shop. We didn't stay too long but it was pretty.

Stunning building and a great photo opportunity of the harbour, bay and the opera house itself. It's a building that shouldn't be missed as there's not another one like it. Free to have a roam around invite.

Reykjavik is an artsy city and this building is a part of the cultural scene. It dominates the area where it is situated. As you approach the sun plays with the building in a way that gives off a cool aura. The interior is open and worth the time to visit. They were advertising a few shows, but we did... More

Definitely go see the Opera, it is very interesteing architecture. Seems to be all glass which changes color by the minute depending on the sun and clouds. There is also a restaurant there but we did not eat there. Worth a stop though.

I was so surprised how beautiful this building is on the inside. It is large and spacious with wonderful windows and abstract decor. Just go and relax and watch the lovely views outside the windows.

Toured around outside and in. Took the elevator to the top floor and worked my way down taking lots of pictures along the way. Very interesting design.

This building is made of glass and changes colour at night. We didn't see any opera show, we just took some photos of the nearby harbor and of the inside because it is an interesting building. We also browsed the few shops, but the products were quite expensive, albeit beautiful. If you're looking for nice souvenirs or gifts for your... More
