A bit of a trek but worth it for the view of the marina and the Harpa. Little bit of history behind the location available to the left too.

This is one of those attractions that you weren't intending to see and to be honest I was attracted as much to see what the views were like as I was to see the statue at the centre of such itself. It's OK - it's a little interesting but it does have some good views - so all in all... More

We come across this statue while having a wonder round :) there's a little plaque on the side explaining about the meaning of it. But from up here there's lovely views across the town and the harbour.

Appreciate the meaning behind the statue rather than seeing it as 'something to do'. Hardly an attraction.

We toured this area with our walking tour and stopped here at the statue. It is dedicated to the first settlers in Iceland.

You can just relax here with a book or watch city's pace or even rainbows! Nice spot for photography and has great historic significance.

Take a walk up the hill to see this artistic statue of the first viking to come to Iceland. It is a monumental work and the hilltop setting gives you a good view of the harbor and downtown area. If you are downtown at all you will see it, so take a few minutes if you are able to walk... More

This is a nice statue that is dedicated to the first settlers of Iceland in 876 AD. There is a park beside it and you get a good view of the harbour and Harpa. It was only a statue on a hill (Unlike me you should probably read up on the history of the first settlers and then understand the... More

Beautiful, artistic statue dedicated to the first settler of Iceland 876 AD. Nice setting on a hill that offers a nice view of the city. More info on the walking tour.
