Helpful staff offering all round services from pick up, gear and guide. The ride was fun and the view is AWESOME. The snowy forest just took my heart and soul. The lunch offered after the ride is also nice. It gives a warm family feeling with the running dog :) Only problem is can't take photos when riding, it's really... More

My husband and I chose Viking horses for our trip as we had read in the reviews that it was well organised, with a family atmosphere, and that the horses were well looked after and loved...... this is exactly what we found when we arrived and throughout our trip. We were well prepared before hand with warm clothes and helmets,... More

Before arriving in Iceland I was struggling to find somewhere that could provide a ride for my 5 year old beginner daughter (apart from leading her around an arena). Viking horses offered us a private tour just the two of us and it couldn't have been more perfect. They picked us up from our accommodation with a car seat ready... More

Dear Genna, thank you for your kind words, your review means a lot to us. It was great to have you both here! And next time we can go all together for a faster ride, your daughter was really confident and so cute with her horse :) Best wishes to you both, Verena More

After seeing pictures of Iceland's horses, the kids just had to do a ride and had planned a ride on the black sand beaches of Vik. The weather did not cooperate so my wife arranged a ride with Verena at Viking with less than a 1-day notice. Upon our arrival, Verena, our guide and the owner got us all set... More

It was immediately evident upon arriving that the owners of Viking Horses take excellent care of their horses, and they don't allow profits to take precedence over animal welfare. The tour groups are small, and the horses seem genuinely interested and engaged in their surroundings, rather than just plodding along like robots. I was given a lovely little mare called... More

What a great experience! We are so glad we chose Viking horses. Our two guides were great and super helpful. They choose a horse based on your riding experience, if you have any or none. The horses are extremely well trained. First you get on the horse and get used to being on the horse and how to control it... More

I went with a friend this morning to Viking Horses and I'm glad I did! We were picked up from our accommodations by a lovey lady who served us lunch when we were done. My prior horse riding experience before today was nil and it was not at all an issue. I rode Klaki, a 12-13 year old and very... More

Iceland is currently overrun by tourists, so you need to go out of your way a bit to experience this wonderful country. We have never ridden before so wanted to talk to someone in person about what to expect. We initially went to the mob that's listed at the top of the TripAdvisor list of horse riding experiences around Reykjavik,... More

I loved my Viking Horses experience so much last year that I decided to do it again this year! The small group size is fantastic because the ride is customized to your group's experience level. When we passed another tour group of 15 or more, my friend and I were thankful to be in a small group that allowed us... More

If you want to enjoy an unbelievable horse experience without a crowd of people, check out Viking Horses. We were picked up at our hotel and welcomed at the impeccable stables just outside Reykjavik. The girls could not have been nicer. They set us up with the proper gear and instruction and introduced us to the sweetest horses you've ever... More
