Probably the most beautiful place we have ever visited. Excellent natural scenic views of a variety of different features, hot springs, colourful lakes and mountains, new born stones, etc. Highly recommended.

This route around this peninsula has similar attraction as for the Golden circle; but with much shorter tour time. A great choice if your time is restricted

Of course there is the touristic Blue Lagoon Resort, but this peninsula has a lot more to offer. Nature attractions, like water rapids, hot springs, and a coast line that gives you wonderful rock formations, around a sturdy Light House. In front of this Light...More

We went straight from arriving at Keflavik to the Reykjanes peninsular - easy to do on a self drive tour as all the sights are marked and have small car parks just off the road. We loved the lighthouse, cliffs and great auk statue at...More

Make sure that you visit the bride that crosses between the Eurasian and American continental plates. The scenery across this area is brutal - molten lava and rocks make it an amazing sight. As well as the Blue Lagoon (of course!) visit Hafnir for a...More

These are Icelandic horses that were brought over by the settlers in the 9th Century. They are not as big as other horses but very sturdy and have a thick coat. I took the picture for my Grandson who loves horses. We saw people horseback...More

Close to the airport, a beautiful Peninsula to walk around, particularly if you have some time to spend waiting for a blue lagoon appointment. Lovely the stairs and walking paths. Especially recommend walking high up the promontory to have a beautiful view of the cliffs

We drove around the Reykjanes Peninsula in one day, it is easy to do as a day trip from Reykjavik. There is so much to see and do in this area with clear signs to attractions and information signs in English to explain the areas....More

This was surprisingly beautiful, lighthouses, bird cliffs, multicolored bubbling and steaming hot springs. Take two or three hours, stop along the way and enjoy. When in Gardur at the old smaller lighthouse it's worth spending the money on rather unpleasant coffee, regular tea, or nothing...More

If you haven't made time to see much of Iceland beyond Reykjavik and the Golden Circle, it's worth the effort to get out to Reykjanes. It's about 25 minutes from Keflavik. Head west and see the amazing sea stacks and waves to the south and...More
