This area is nowadays filled with cultural organizations, companies and individual artists. Not so much to see for tourists. The parking lot dominates the area.
The orthodox church Saint Nicholas was opened in 1866 and is located next to Kasarmintori. It is a beautiful church but opens for public only during the services.

This historical church is located in place that used to be and island on the sea only a few hundreds years ago!

It was a lovely, beautiful autumn sunday. It was nice to walk aroud the old army area and enjoy the view of colourful maples. I wanted to visit in the Orthodox church, but it was not open. I did not find any times when they keep the doors open.
