This place is really interesting for anyone with an interest in geography or nature. Geology 'in action'. Lovely area: do go up the observation tower in Bjorkoby

Spent four days in the Kvarken area. Really good map available from the Vaasa Turist office for free. And you are going to need it in order to find nice sites to land and pitch your tent. Bring your own drinking water.

Local people are glad to show you the morene island and their wildlife. White tail eagle and other birds a easy to spot from a small boat or the birdwatch tower.
