Särkänniemi, this place made me feel all giddy inside.
The rides were intresting and most fun indeed yet a little bit frightful, especially the one I like to call "Uppies machine" haha.
The food in this place is of subpar quality and very very expensive, my wallet was literally screaming haha.
It truly was a fun place, and even now writing this and remembering the good times I used to have I get giddy and a little bit silly yahaha!

When you are taking your family to a million churches and museums, this was a nice break for everyone! Lots to see and experience! Is refreshing as we come from a well known Orlando theme park area that has long lines for everything, to this wonderful park where we hardly waited at all! In some cases, my child was able to ride a few times instead of just once! What a treat!

Särkänniemi has something for everyone. If you like wild rides you got them and if you don’t there is still devices for you. And if you don’t like any types of rides you can play these fun games and watch beautiful scenery from peninsula. I think that the wristbands are little bit pricey but not too expensive. And food could be cheaper as well. But I will recommend and of course you should visit Näsinneula as well because the views are really cool.

1. English! Särkäniemi is a theme park, therefore it is a tourist attraction, therefore it would be quite necessary to write things in English. The whole info paper is in finnish, all menu lists are in finnish, even hygenic rules are only in finnish! Staff can speak english though.
2. Employees. Good lord, the employees there. I haven't seen so unmotivated employees in a long time. You can see in their face that they do not like to work there. One station for kids, was closed for hours, reason: They are on a break. Are you on break for 2 hours? Only one employee was amazing and I could see that he really loved to see children smile. He himself smiled a lot and was very friendly. I don't know if the employees change the station, but it was at the rekkaralli and his name is Jussi, Huge thumbs up for this guy.
3. Tickets. The next thing where I can say, oh lord. We were probably just unlucky, we were first time there, didn't know how everything works, but it seems like that the staff didn't know either. We were 3 adults and 1 child, 1 baby. Only the adults got wristbands, but our child didn't. Because it was first time, we thought that this is normal and we already were at the stations. Then we heard, that the child needs a wristband too. It was such a big hassle to get a child wristband, employees called each other and didn't know what to do. It took 25 min to figure this out and get a child wristband.
4. If your child is under 100cm there is nothing for you to do there and that is a bit sad. Nothing for really small ones.

One of the best theme parks in Finland! There are good amount of rides for children (100m and above in height) with good options for adults too and many options to eat with. We did not have time to visit the aquarium and the petting zoo but heard they are good too.
Would suggest that you take the unlimited ride pass

Nice place to get some adrenaline rush. For adults there are 3-4 'mild' rides. We had limited time, so we used only one of them: the one that was waterway-based - I can recommend it to anyone, though a change of clothes may be needed if it's colder and the sun is too weak to dry your clothes afterwards. Then there are a few medium and several extreme machines. On top of it there is a small arcade center and areas for children.

Theme park has not only amusement rides categories by height under 100cm, 120cm, 140cm and all above. Kids with height between 1m to 1,2m can go to 21 different equipments either alone or with one adult. Koiramäki is mostly for kids under school ages. With the full theme park access bracelet (price in year 2020 is 47euros/adult) can get up to the towel to enjoy the view of whole city.

We visited Koiramäki and Sarah Hildén museum.

In the aftermath of korona virus, there was quite a few hand disinfectant available throughout the park. Also the day of the visit had to be pre booked if you wanted to come the amusement park side.
The queues were already massive at 11:30 but you can get Koiramäki tickets also from the inside of the gates (not mentioned on their website).

Animals were cute and there were not that many people looking at them which was nice. We had planned that we will eat lunch and then as our toddler dozed off th have a nap, will drive home. However, ALL OF THE RESTAURANTS AND CAFES WERE CLOSED “for now”. Hard to understand why because fast food, if something, is possible to be served individually in this korona virus situation. There was also no mention of this on their website which would have been nice since this affected negatively to the rest of our day with a cranky and tired toddler (there are only so many snacks or smoothies you can have).

So now it only seems to be a way to cut costs since the amount of customers is being cut too. At the same time they said on the radio that Särkänniemi is one of the most expensive parks to visit this summer.
Left a bit of a bad taste in our mouth.

Särkänniemi offers quite a variety of activities. This time we visited Doghill Park, Aquarium and Näsinneula Tower. For small kids (2 and 3-years-old) it's quite expensive as there are quite a lot age/height limitations. Kids loved the Doghill Park and the Aquarium. The Tower offered amazing views over Tampere. Fortunately the parking is free behind the train track aqueduct.
