Had a wonderful lunch at Viikinsaari. Amazing service and wonderful dishes from local providers. It is very easy to get to the island from Laukontori Port on Silver Line vessels. Best of the trip is to reserve enough time to enjoy a lunch or dinner on the island. Truly value for money.

An outdoor island full of small paths. Several organised events offered during summer months but island is at it best as a picnic site and to wander around on its own. Cafe and toilets available. Acces the boat trip to theisland from Laukontori-square.

For me the main experience in visiting this island was the boat trip taking about half an hour there. You can reach the island also with some other means (i.e., canoeing, rowing boat, private boat, swimming might be too extreme). On the island you have an outdoor theatre, a couple of beaches, a nature trail, a public sauna (check for the opening hours online!) a dance pavillion, a restaurant, etc. Sounds like a lot, but unless you're going specifically for some thing there, it doesn't take too long to sightsee the entire island. Still, worth checking out.

Viikinsaari Island is a small Island very near to city of Tampere. It’s a 20min boat journey. The ticket price of the boat is 13 euro (for adult, 2 way). It’s better to download the app named “Tampere Passi”. With the app anyone can get 1 ticket free if he/she buy 1 ticket. Buy one get 2! There is no other entry fee in the Island. The food is expensive including snacks or drinks. It’s a good place for picnic. Food or drinks can be taken with you as there is no restriction on it to save food cost. There are small beaches, small playground, one big restaurant, kids playing areas, Music/Concert areas. The moments in the beach can be enjoyed in maximum if there is a big group going together. The most enjoyable part of the whole tour was the boat journey from Laukontori to Viikinsaari. The scenes of both side along with blues sky in summer days are simply stunning.

Viikinsaari island offers nice way to spend a day if it's not raining. Boat trip from Tampere city centre (Laukontori) to Viikinsaari island takes about 30 minutes. At Viikinsaari you can play outdoor games, swim (there is also small beach) and eat lunch or dinner in restaurant. Because most of attractions are outdoor, you should visit there when it's not raining.

Beautiful get away close to the city. Only 20mins from the city centre by boat.We travelled with a small baby and felt safe on the boat. Staff was very helpful. The island is beautiful, well maintained and clean as most Finnish attractions are. The water is clean to swim but of course can be cold. We had a lovely day by the shore. The boats arrive every hour to take passengers back to the city so you never feel stranded.

We visited this beautiful island by the boat which leaves from Laukontori market place. The island is possible to visit on summer time. The boat trip takes 20 min. You need a whole day to visit there and enjoy the beauty of island with includes forest, beaches, small chapel, restaurant etc.
