“Modern memorial for a well-known musician”

This Flow of Life memorial by sculptor Aimo Taleva was revealed in 1984 in Posteljooninpuisto Park next to Tampere Railway Station. Olavi Virta (1915-1972) was a well-known Finnish tango singer and also a film actor. This steel sculpture consists of triangle-like shapes that create a feeling of an upward movement. On the street’s side, the sculpture has steel rods depicting thin strings of a musical instrument. The abstract monument has divided opinions quite strongly in public.

“Steel monument to Olavi Virta”

This monument named "Elämän virta" is a memorial to Olavi Virta (1915-1972). He was a Finnish singer who was called "the king of Finnish tango" and "Bing Crosby of Finland". He also acted in 16 films. I appreciate Olavi Virta very much but I don't like this steel sculpture so much.
