Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely worth a visit when you're coming to Finland

The old town of Rauma is very beautiful, really nice looking houses, great for a stroll and visit some cute shops, drink coffee and eat some munkki.

This place is a gem to walk around in. The houses are beautiful (could use a spot of paint here and there) and the town is easily acessible, One building you shouldn't miss is the old church! That was the highlight of the walking path I took.

Literally hundreds of old wooden buildings, a mix of houses and shops, together with a beautiful church next to a babbling brook this is a really beautiful and picturesque old town. There are some shops to explore and cafes and restaurants to eat in. Lots of nearby parking.

It was very interesting to see how cities used to look in Finnland. They City has many Shops and Cafés to visit, it is definitiv ately worth a couple hours of walking around and exploring. The day we were there, a sunday, everyone was putting on a flea market. I dont know if that is normal.

A must for anybody interested in architecture. I also recommend the The Church of the Holy Cross near the Old Rauma center.

After going to Porvoo we were disappointed with the number of wooden buildings we saw there. Old Rauma is a completely different story! There are street after street of wooden buildings. It takes quite a while to drive around and hours to walk around. This is the place to go if you are interested in this history and architecture.

First time in Rauma. Very nice and cosy old centre with wooden houses. Nice buildings. The centre is protected by Unesco world heritage.

The Old Rauma is a wonderful site with beautiful old houses made of wood, primarily. Visiting on a rainy day was not the nicest thing to do and perhaps I would have graded it 5 on a sunny day. The narrowest street Kitugränn was awesome as were the ruins of the old church. It is also very noteworthy that the site is not a museum but people actually live there. On the fringes and especially the western one there is a sort of clash with the modern part of the town. Inside the small shops and cafes are fantastic.
