A must in Pori
Aug 2021 • Couples
I had previously visited 60 years before but the place still made an impression. As a child I was haunted for years by the painting of the people preparing to cross the river of death. This time I was again in awe but not any more haunted. The mausoleum really has an impact, and the lady guide was so excellent we were just so happy after the visit.

This place is amazing. Good guides are giving a piece of information of all details of this unique mauseleum. A lot of masonic symbols are speaking of those all it concerns.
My recommendation if u r in Pori.

This mausoleum lies in the peaceful cemetery of Käppärä, just 10-15 minutes walk forom the city center. Built By a businessman for his daughter who diesd just 11 years old it was originally painted By frescos done By one of the most known Finnish painters Akseli Gallen-Kallela, also now decorated By famous Finnish sculpturer Emoil Cedercreuz.

This is an interesting and beautiful building in the middle of Käppärä cemetery. The guide gave us a very profound and informative presentation of mauseleum's history, the artists who have done it and the construction work.

Touching story with top class art
Sep 2016 • Solo
Easy to reach in town, at a beautiful cemetary. Impressive wall paintings of Gallén-Kallela, inspired by the Finnish national epic Kalevala. The mausoleum erected for the builder´s daughter who died young and the is situated is to be seen in the crypt below. A visit worth while, very touching story with a beautiful building.
