About
Finnish Air Force Museum shows Finnish aviation history from its beginning, 1918 to the present days. The Main exhibition consists of aircraft, engines and aircrew equipment which has been used by the Finnish Air Force. The equipment of Air Force Signals Museum has its own section. Must see place for everybody interested in aircrafts and Finnish air force with its impressive history. You can find here examples of very popular planes (Hurricane, Bf-109, Blenheim or Il-28) but also some very rare and unique ones (Brester Buffalo, Valmet Vihuri, VL Pyörremyrsky and more).

Interesting museum with a cool collection of air planes – small and big, war and civil, old and new... Most of them are with swastika. If you are interested in the war epoch you will find a lot of cool and fascinating things there to enjoy!

The museum is lovely, with some one-off and first-rate examples of aircraft. A great, historical account of the Finnish Air Force. Whilst there are plenty of information boards in Finnish and English for each piece, we were shown round by a guide in English which was excellent and really added more context to some of the display items with more of a story.
Excellent 3 hours spent and only about 15km north of Jyvaskyla town.

When you arrive at the museum, you can already see some aircraft from the war and other stuff outside but when you go inside, you couldn't imagine how many things they have been collecting from the war. I really liked this museum because it's well organized and the collection is pretty impressive. You have the main building and then you have also some things to see at the first floor on the sides of the building. There's also a little kiosk if you want do drink or eat something.
This museum is not far from the airport and around 15 km from the city center of Jyväskylä. It is easy to find.

I had been there already some 25 years ago but didn't remember that the place was so amazing! We spent 2 hours inside to explore the history of aviation in Finland, comparing motors, forms and wondering on how those things could fly?
excellent place to visit as well with children .

Here are many planes, bits and pieces that do not exist anywhere else in the world. Most planes are restored in "original" condition, rather than new like. We had an awesome guide.....

If you happen to have a rainy this is a nice olace to visit. Big hall with lots of planes. The only down side is that the museum is quite far from the city (about 20 km).
