This small art museum is located next to Kirkkopuisto church park.

The exhibitions focus on exhibiting the Finnish contemporary art and art from Central Finland as well as the best of international contemporary art and old Finnish masters.

Here art is everywhere, including the toilets.

I discovered the art museum during my erasmus semester in Jyväskylä. And not only have I discovered an interesting museum with nice exhibitions but they have this special atmosphere that will make you fall in love with this place. The staff is lovely, friendly, open-minded and open to discuss with people. The cute shop at the entrance is a nice adress to shop souvenirs during your stay. I've seen two different exhibitions and never been disappointed so far! This is a must do in Jyväskylä for sure!

Right in the center next to Church Park, a great place to see some contemporary art! A really nice shop, impeccable and knowledgeable service.

Free entrance on Fridays or go with Museum Card. Sometimes if not always they let under 18 yrs old visitors in for free, too. Excellent!

We found the museum’s exhibition “Other realities” youthful and exciting, containing an interesting selection of modern art. The freshness of the museum might be partly due to its capability of self-irony and sense of humor especially visible in the selection of the museum shop.

The exhibitions are sometimes definitely worth checking out and I do recommend using the free entry on Fridays! This is quite traditional art museum / art gallery but the location is amazing and it is worth checking out if you are interested in art :)

We spent an hour in the museum and saw modern art and graphic design in a 1960´s home there. Easy to pop in off the main street to see the changing exhibitions. On Fridays the entry is free. To celebrate Finland´s 100 years of independence there will be a very interesting exhibition from 9th June until 8th October 2017 titled "A hundred years, a thousand interpretations" including exhibits from Pekka Halonen, Eero Järnefelt, Helene Schjerfbeck, Akseli Gallen-Kallela among others. We´ll certainly pay a visit then!

Well, contemporary art, as always, does not fail to surprise, shock or make you very confused.
Nice displays, quick, small and pretty exhibitions.
