We perform checks on reviews
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Main buildings are designed by Alvar Aalto. The oldest buildings are from late 19th century. Beautiful gardening.
A real campus area, rare in Finland. Beautiful especially during the autumn with all the colours of the trees and plants.

Jyväskylä University has its origins in the first Finnish-speaking Teacher Seminary, which was founded in 1863.

There are three campuses: the Main Campus area in the city center as well as Mattilanniemi and Ylistönrinne Campuses on opposite shores of Lake Jyväsjärvi.

Several buildings in the main campus area were designed by famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.

The university has 15,000 students and if counting the adult education students, 40,000 students in total. The university offers a wide range of study programs. Natural Sciences, Human Sciences, Sports and Health Sciences, as well as Teacher education, are the university's areas of special expertise.

For a tourist, there is a University Museum, founded in 1900. It has two sections: The Cultural History Section and The Natural History Museum. The latter one is located under the Vesilinna water tower.

A beautiful environment where you enjoy the beauty of the environment where the buildings keep Alvar Aalto' s shapes alive among the woods and inspire culture, science and organization.,

In walking distance to the city center, the main campus presents a good range of Aalto buildings from the brick phase. Don’t miss the main building with the Aalto library which have been recently renovated with much respect to the original appearance. Free guidebooks are available and most parts are open to the public.

I dined in the campus cafeteria located in Agora Building. The price is reasonable. I also got to try some Finnish food. Nice!

The Capitolium is the central building of the University Campus. Have a look at the spaces hosting the cafeteria, the classrooms windows (in particular top floor ones) and the ceilings.
