About
Sibelius Hall is located by the beautiful Lake Vesijarvi. Sibelius Hall is a congress- and concert center that offers diverse services for both consumers and companies. Sibelius Hall was built in 2000 adjacent to an old factory building. The modern wooden architecture is combined with the old industrial history in the most interesting way.

Best acoustics I've ever heard in a wooden, eco-friendly building that still has presence and grandeur. Sibelius Festival totally unique experience. And fabulous views over the Lake. Inspired work by Tuomas Kinberg and others to get the Hall built.

We came here to see the Elvis Presley show with Dwight Icenhower . The building and the acoustic was great and the staff friendly and polite. Everything went smoothly although the venue was sold out.

Ever year since 2001 I have flown from the UK to Finland especially to attend the annual Sibelius Festival at Lahti in the wondrous Sibeliustalo. As you walk in you are met by the aroma of wood, then into the Forest Hall where in the ceiling are stars (lights of course) so positioned as they were in the universe the day Jean Sibelius was born. The auditoreum, with reverberation chambers, is perfection itself with absolutely perfect acoustics. I now have every recording issued by BIS that has been made in this hall with the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and Osmo Vanska, a world beating ensemble. To look out of the Forest Hall in the interval and see the sun going down is sheer magic. I cannot wait for this coming September (2009) to arrive to experience paradise itself.

This concert hall overlooking the lake combines the old external brick facade of a former factory with an ultramodern interior. This is something the Finns are very good at doing. The concert hall itself is an acoustic marvel where no expense has been spared in ensuring the listener's expectations are fully met. The new organ , designed in French romantic style, is thrilling to hear. The organist gives demonstrations during the summer skilfully displaying the organ's versatility and capabilities. I was able to try the instrument after one such demonstration and found it a delight to play. The Sibelius Hall is open to the public at certain times and guided tours are held - in Finnish. But there are multilingual brochures available. Definately a "must" for the visitor whether you are attending a concert or just want to pop in for a viewing. There are good eating places nearby, and in the Hall itself

You may become addicted to the lake views from the meeting rooms in the conference center of Sibelius Hall. But you definitely will love the beautiful acoustics if you go to a classical concert in the wood decorated Main Hall. Strong recommendation.

Tables uncleand, messy food, employees more interested in everything else than customers. Additionally the space resembles more a gym than a cozy lunch place. I can not recommend !

I had been to a concert at the Sibelius Hall many years ago and seen a few exhibits on display in the main lobby. In terms of acoustics, the concert hall ranks among the best in the world. The building itself looks like a giant wooden box encased in glass, and in fact, the wood structure is largest wood building (for public use) constructed in Finland in the last century.

We decided to host a private event at the Sibelius Hall. Although our party was relatively small (around 50 people), we decided to lease a room in the congress wing attached to the main hall. The Sibelius Hall restaurant provided catering for the event. Hosting a summer event in Finland, we did have a number of options, possibly more intimate lakeside locations, historical sites, or less expensive restaurants. However, with a number of out-of-town/foreign guests in attendance, many of whom would not have separate transportation, we wanted something in town, easy to access. Overall, we were very pleased with how the event turned out and strongly recommend Sibelius Hall for scheduling any type of group event whether a conference, an elegant party, or a wedding.

While the ideal time to visit Sibelius Hall is for a musical performance in the main hall, it is a beautiful, architectural landmark in Lahti to visit, especially due to its close proximity to the Lahti waterfront restaurants and cafes.
