Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Maretarium is a perfect size to get a good insight into Finnish fish. Interesting, well built exhibition.

Even though the massive Baltic Sea aquarium was under repairment, all the other tanks were interesting and very much suitable for a family of a 2-year-old. The classroom setting was super sympathetic! Would recommend and will be back once the main tank is back on track.

Quite interesting place with lots of information of fishes and the Baltic Sea and other Finnish waters. It is quite small though but worth to visit, also with kids.

Here you can see great many fish species, but not all by the leaflet. At least I could not recognize all. The wall information papers highlighted the pollution in the seas. Anyway I was missing some of the fish species.

Very interesting place if you have an interest in fish with many to see of all sizes. Various acitvities for children to do around the centre. Compared to the nearby Maritime museum it is a little expensive. Price as of July 2018 for Maretarium was 14.50 euros for adults and 7.50 for children 4-15yrs whereas the Maritime Vellamo centre was 10 euros for adults and children under 18 free.

An unusual aquarium as it only stocks fish you can catch in Finland. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit although it is quite expensive for what it is.

The Maretarium concentrates on fishes living in the Baltic sea and Finnish lakes and rivers. Therefore, someone who expects tropical fish tanks with shiny fishes might be a bit disappointed at first. However, highly interesting and educational to learn more about the fishes that exist in Finland. The feeding tour was a nice extra with someone explaining even more and answering questions.

Very interesting aquarium showing just Finnish fish species. However, "Finnish" was sometimes a bit stretched... For example, they had plenty of sturgeons, even though they admitted that there are virtually no wild sturgeons left in Finland - sure, a hundred years ago Finland had plenty of those, too.

Maretarium houses a number of smallish and one larger fish tank with local fish species. The displays are not especially spectacular and some species dominate. The entrance is costly.
