Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quite interesting place with lots of information of fishes and the Baltic Sea and other Finnish waters. It is quite small though but worth to visit, also with kids.

An unusual aquarium as it only stocks fish you can catch in Finland. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit although it is quite expensive for what it is.

The aquarium is rather small, but it's still a good place to spend 20-30 minutes on a rainy day. Go outside when it's sunny.

Maretarium is not so big, but have many interests Finnish fish in aquariums, really nice implementation, we missed the show when a diver fed fish in large aquarium, it would be so interesting to see. We can recommend this place for children too, we visited with three grandchildren (6,8 and 11 yrs) and all were improved.

This is not your exotic and colourful Sea World experience, this is about learning about the Finnish fish, the Baltic Sea, rivers and lakes in Finland, and about their ecosystem, plants and animals.
Now that this common mistake is settled ;) I can warmly recommend the place for anyone interested in (Finnish) nature. There are something like 50 species of fish in aquariums made to look like their natural habitats, be it the arctic brooks of Lappland or the Baltic Sea. We spent a good two hours enjoying the place and learning new things.

Visited with my husband and 18 month old son. I received a free adult entry voucher so thought we would give it a visit.
Paid €13.50 to get in.
The place is so dark, so much so that my son found the emergency lighting more interesting!!
The tanks are also dark and very dull, I understand these represent the Finnish fish and the waters but I feel they could do more with the sets. Even the fish looked bored!!!
Very disappointed we lasted a total of 20 minutes and I'm glad I didn't pay for 2 adults.

Good way to get to intoduced into Finnish sealife and life in Finnish lakes. Setup of exhibition is nicely designed. Dark lightening makes life of fish much more real.
Cafeteria offers delicious pastries.

This Maretarium has examples of all the fish to be found in Finland. Their prime living surroundings are duplicated faithfully in tanks or artificial streams. The fish are clearly healthy and have enough space. We spent 3 or more hours here. It's absolutely fascinating and the owners have taken care to label everything informatively.
After seeing the fish, you can have a simple meal or coffee and cakes in the cafe attached to the building.
Please don't miss this.
