Just enter a market, with food products and some souvenirs on the floor above. Nice to have walked over it once. It looks neat and fresh. The market also has dining options. Please note, these are quite full around lunch time, so if you want to have lunch there, you have to get there early.

nice place, but overcrowded. Its hard to find a spot for eating anything what they sell. Anyway if you go there not in the middle of a day f.e early in the morning - You may be lucky to seat and it or drink.

Beautiful market! Warm, welcoming, full of every Finnish meat or fish specialty. We opted for Pa Kroken: 2 oysters, 1 caviar, 2 salmon and whitefish croutons. Two liters of beer and lots of fun. Special service. All very well. Mandatory stop.

While I was in Helsinki this time, I stopped by two marketplaces. This is just outside Hakaniemi Metro Station. I dropped by on my way back from Marimekko. The first floor is mainly lined with restaurants, while the second floor is lined with craft shops and souvenir shops. The swanky brick walls and narrow aisles of shops remain the same, but here it was a bit quieter and calmer. Maybe it's because it's in the city rather than the old market, which is such a tourist destination... When it comes to food and drink, there are similar restaurants, so you should go one way or the other. By the way, I prefer the slightly noisy Old Market. The port and outdoor market are close by. By the way, it was an important point of transportation, we took the Metro to Marimekko, and at this station we changed trains to Arabia.

Loved going in here to look at the displays of foods of all sorts. Good time of year as the summer harvest had started. We did not buy anything as we were in town for only one day, but great fun to see what was available.

This is a really neat place. It is fairly new to Helsinki as I understand it but it has become very popular quickly. There are dozens of stalls where you can vie with the locals to get what you need from fresh produce, fish, meat, cheese, bread, sweets and tea/coffee. We were there probably every other day for coffee and a small bite before setting out to explore. Highly recommend making a visit here. The nearest tram stop is a minute away also called Hakaniemi.
