About
Sauna Hermanni is one of the three remaining public saunas in Helsinki. Our sauna has been hot since 1953. This year we have decorated our looks back to 50's. Our Iki-Kiuas stoves give you nice mellow and relaxing experience. Saunas are separate for women and men. You can rent a towel, so you don't need to bring anything but yourself. In our dressing room you can order little snacks for example to

We enjoyed our visit to this sauna to relax at the end of the day touring the city. The manager was fantastic and very gracious. Facilities were charming and made for a very welcoming feel.

I just spent a great 3 hours here, alternating between the sauna, the ladies' lounge and the hammock outside. Was my first time but the owner/staff was super friendly and welcoming. He spoke excellent English and since I arrived soon after the opening, he was able to show me around (as there was no other lady customer). Easy peasy coming here from the airport. I took bus 615, which costs €5.50 (can be paid to the driver who can give change). Other option would be bus 617 also from the airport. The buses have LED boards indicating the names of the stops, so you can't miss the stop. I alighted earlier to go to King Kebab a few blocks away. However the sauna does have a food & drinks menu which seemed very reasonably priced.

We celebrated my friend's birthday there. The sitting room had oldies style and was comfy. The sauna and shower areas were nothing special, but they were clean and served their purpose. Service was friendly and helpful.

I could not remember when i tried this sauna, but stuff was very kind even though she could not speak English well. I was impressed the hospitality and could make nice memory with a friend. Sauna room is quite compact but nice atmosphere. The street is Haemeentie, which is on the lines of tram 6 and 8, so if you go to Arabia you could drop by!

Sauna Hermanni is a public sauna where you can feel the original athosmphere of Finnish sauna, although there are electric kiuas. But they give you moisty and smooth warm feeling. There a sides for women and men but sometimes men and women can bath on the same sides, naked or not. In Sauna Hermanni you can have something small to eat, for example toast, sausages, hot dogs, antipasto-style portions and some beveridges (mineral water, soft drinks, coffee) so you have energy to enjoy the warmness. Sauna Hermanni is grounded in 1950`s and is still in same place with same kind of interior. Here have Finnish actors and sportsmen had their bathtimes during decades. Sauna is used mostly by locals and they have visited there for years. So, if you are near and have few hours extra time, go for it.

This is a small sauna just outside the city center, mainly used by locals. It has a nice atmosphere of past times. The sauna is mostly used by locals and for an electric heated sauna it's quite good. You can also order a variety of food (eg. sausages, potato salad).

Plus points:
- Open on Mondays
- Nice atmosphere

Min points:
- Electric heated
- Use of chlorine in the water

Located in the basement of a normal apartment building in a residential area, with a receptionist who does not speak one word of english but is really nice and helpful, this is a good place to experience sauna as the Finns do (we were the only foreigners in there).
Everything was very clean, the rooms were cosy, and the sausage looked really yummy (didn't try it though). Good prices too!

My husband has Finnish heritage, and many of his family members have saunas on their property. For this reason, we were eage to experience an authentic Finnish sauna during our visit to Helsinki. Sauna Hermanni did not disappoint. The temperature and humidity were perfect for me, and I thought the sauna proper had great ambiance - very cozy. I learned that the other women in the sauna were friends and lived in Helsinki. I think that this really added to my experience; to feel like I was taking part in their culture with them.

Afterwards, my husband and I had a snack (sausage with mustard) while we waited for our taxi. The gentleman who was working there was very kind and even insisted that we wait inside while he ventured out into the rain to check for our taxi. I would absolutely recommend Sauna Hermanni to those interested.

This was the first tin that I did an all/out Finnish sauna. I've been in saunas before--but not like the Finns do it.

The guy at the desk was very helpful. He walked me through the steps and protocol. It was very relaxing!

NOTE: they do not accept cards! The orchestra is 10€ unless you also want to rent a towel for another 2€. They also have snacks and drinks!! Overall a great experience.
