The official name of this Rhododendron park is Haagan Alppiruusupuisto but it is also called Rodopuisto. You can take a local train from the main railway station of Helsinki to Huopalahti train station and then walk from there to the park. The park area is eight hectares and it is totally free to visit there (no any entrance fee). The best time to visit the park is early June when it is full of flowers. There is also an azalea area in the park. Totally thousands of rhododendrons and azaleas grow in the area. Very beautiful! This is a very good selfie spot and an instagrammable photo place.

Haaga Rhododendron Park is a public park located in the district of Haaga.

The park has two parts: the evergreen rhododendrons grow in the southern section, while the azaleas grow on the other side of the power lines in the northern section.

Floral splendor can be viewed from wooden pathways and platforms.

The peak blooming season is in early June. On our visit, the blooming was a little bit late. The spring was colder than average. Also, high pine trees create a shading canopy for the flowering plants.

Thousands of Helsinki residents and gardening enthusiasts visit the park each year to witness the spectacle.

Best in late May or early June, nice nature walk inside urban city. Easy accessible, only a few minutes walk from the Huopalahti station. We came with a young child who loved it.

Worth visiting although people who visited this park a year ago may be a bit disappointed because blooming of summer 2017 was so extraordinary when all flowers bloomed same time. Azaleas are very beautiful right now and many of the rhododendrons will reach their full bloom in some days.

Visited during high season when all the flowers were in bloom. Lots of people so it was difficult to move, but the flora was amazing! Despite the traffic I would recommend visiting, although check that the flowers are blossoming at that time.

The Rhododendron park in Haaga is definitely a place to go. It's just magical when blossoming. The Forrest is full of colourful rhododendrons and azaleas usually on midsummer. Strongly recommend.

Worth visiting if you are in Helsinki in mid June! Blossom that you can't imagine in the middle on woods. Take your time, walk around, meditate, take pictures - as you wish. Just go there to enjoy!
