Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a group of 5 age ranging from 21 to 77. Our tour leader Jarri was informative and knowledgeable giving us an insight into the architecture, history and culture of Finland and Helsinki. We got off the tourist routes and had a great time and the pace was leisurely and enjoyable with a very pleasant coffee stop.
I would highly recommend this mode of sightseeing and what a great fun and informative guide.

We were 2 people and we wanted to have a tour to have a first impression of the city.
We saw HELtours and we thought that it was a really good idea, besides, they said that with them we would be able to visit some places that are not possible to see from a bus.
Our guide, Riku, was relly nice and was always eager to answer our questions, the riding pace was adequate and the Jopo bikes were really confortable to ride.
In case of rain, they provide a disposable protection.
Definetively, this is a thing that I recomend to do.

Riku and Jari were extraordinarily accommodating. We had stopped in Helsinki for a day while on a cruise and our port time was at the same time of their first tour and we were not sure if taking the second tour would allow us enough time so they opened a new tour departure time an hour after we docked allowing us to spend an incredible afternoon taking in all the great sights in a beautiful city. The bike tour was one of our favorite things we did on our Baltic Cruise. This is a must Do!!! Thanks So Very Much!!!

We were a family of 4 who were in Helsinki for the day. We were cruisers and needed a family fun tour for the day. We met our tour guide who was so friendly and fun to spend the day with. He gave us a 3 hr tour of Helsinki , we toured the parks, the city, the seaside, residential area etc etc. We learned so much but we didn't feel like information was jammed down our throat. It was a feel good tour. The bikes were easy to ride and we had the most wonderful experience with this tour company. I rate this 5 stars. Enjoy Finland on a bike

Although I was the only one who had signed up for the bike tour, my guide Sammi was determined to take me on a rain-free (exceptional!), pokemon-free, hill-free (depends on your definition of hill), tourist-bus-free tour of the city. I had an amazing time, learning how to clean carpets and where to store beer in winter, as well as stories about sibling feuds and abandoned houses, better people and bad bridges. The well-devised scenic route was spiced up with lots of fun facts and crazy hunts for peas by the litre and other local cuisine. I recommend this tour and advise you to keep an eye on pineapples and onions (tip: Russian buildings)!

My wife and I had a great experience with HEL Tours. The group had 11 people on the tour and provided 2 guides, which was much better than a tour we went on in Stockholm that had 17 people and only 1 guide. Our main guide Yari was very knowledgeable about the history of Helsinki and stopped to explain various sites, he also has a good sense of humour. Helsinki is not a big town and is relatively flat so touring by bike is very easy and a fun way to see the town. We were on a cruise ship and only had limited time at Helsinki, so this was a perfect option. The bike tour was also able to go to a number of nice places that bus tours cannot and Helsinki is a very safe place to ride due to the bike paths around the town and the bike/car culture. You do not need to be fit as we went as a leisurely pace. We stopped for a coffee (and lunch for those who wanted to buy food) at a hidden cafe with an amazing view.
The meeting point is in one of the town squares as the guys do not yet have a shop front and the bikes are stored at a nearby hotel. We were not sure if we were in the right place to start off with but we just waited and the guys turned up around 15 minutes before the start time with the bikes.
During the ride I asked if we could stop to buy some water and the guides then obtained and supplied bottled water for free. Also, we offered toilet breaks along the way, which was considerate.

What an amazing tour. Guide was fantastic. Tour was great. You don't need to be extra fit to do the tour although I would say you generally need to be active as those who weren't struggled towards the end of the tour. The weather when we went was beautiful sunshine which made it even better. Although I would recommend taking a bottle of water with you. If you are thinking of Helsinki this I a great way to travel around on your first day. You can pick out all the areas you then want to visit. If you do travel the Helsinki make sure you take some change because when you are out, there are very few public toilets and they all charge. Even the restaurants only allow customers to use their toilets. Highly recommend this company. Easy to find and really good fun!

We were two adults and two teenagers who enjoyed this different way of experience Helsinki. We got to see places we never would have seen otherwise. Jari had great knowledge and took good care of us. The classic bikes were highly appreciated by the whole family! Tempus fugit.

Guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. You see the city through a local's eye's.
Since it's a small city you can really see the highlights during the ride. We were on a cruise ship stop and it was a fun alternative to the usual excursions. We booked this on our own.

I see that tours are for ages 14 and up only. Is that due only to the sizes of bikes you have available? Would you be open to giving a tour to a family of 7 (2 seniors, 2 adults, 2 teens, and one 10 year-old) if we brought a bike for the youngest son?

We will be on a cruise ship that stops in Helsinki. The bike tour or bike rental sounds great. Do any of the bikes have hand brakes as opposed to or in addition to pedal brakes?
Thanks for any input!
