Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This church is a prominent feature in Helsinki’s skyline. The two towers at the front of church are really quite extraordinary. The colours on the church are similar to what the other churches and cathedrals are in Helsinki and has a gothic, medieval feel to it.
It's free entry to enter the church. Usually, churches are quite cold because they’re made predominantly out of stone, but it was actually quite warm in there. The ceilings are vaulted and has stain glass windows.
Overall, definitely worth a visit as I personally think it’s one of the most impressive churches in Helsinki.

We had walked to and from our cruise ship and passed this church en route. It’s also known as St John’s Church and is a huge building -impressive inside and out. Well worth a quick visit

The church can be seen in the city from miles away . It's red colour and medieval look makes it even more attractive. It is a massive church and it's truly a work of art.
The interior is even more gorgeous than the outside. It has beautiful chandilers, and stained glass windows. If you are lucky you might get to sit and and listen to organist practicing. It is a definite must-visit.

Lovely red brick Gothic style church.
Interior is much more interesting than the bigger cathedral with splendid vaulted ceilings. The main entrance window is stunning.
Keep an eye out for the impressive gargoyles.

I visited the Johannes Church once because I have always been thinking it is beautiful. I have heard a lot about it, and I decided to go there. I took a tram (it was easy to reach the church) and went to see it. There were thousands of people there at that moment, because there was some sort of concert. But it was as beautiful and atmospheric as I thought, and even more. Definitely worth a visit!

This church does not look like much from the outside, but inside it is gorgeous, and has excellent accoustics. The organ is famous and people actually come to Finland to hear it. I have attended concerts here and I recommended going there for any musical event. I also attended a church service once, just to hear the organ, and it was memorable.

This is a fantastic looking church with great details, that's not a touristy place at all, so if you're lucky, you can wonder around the church alone. It's also Finland's largest stone church (built in 1891).
It's definitely worth a visit, and the tram line 10 stops right next to it, so it's very easy to get here from the centre.
The opening hours are very limited though, so if you want to go inside, you should check them before coming. When I was there, it was open from noon till 3 p.m., but the opening hours can vary.

Under Christmas, there are several Christmas concerts in the Church of John. One of the traditions is the Guards Band´s Christmas Concert.
