Really nice museum.

A near-perfectly curated exhibition of Modigliani is still going on. The museum opens at 10:00 and it is advisable to go closer to the opening as it is a popular destination. I... read more

Went to see Modigliani there, what an extraordinary collection! Respect to those who got this exhibition to Finland. Also the building itself is impressive, the rooms have enough space, and the location is fantastic. Wirth going!

Ateneum has a vast selection of Finnish art - you can see most of the classic masterpieces here. When I last visited in August 2016, there were also a number of international exhibitions that were well curated. The building itself is impressive, with a nice cafe in the courtyard.

Ateneum is good place to visit and the location is perfect. The building itself is very beatiful. Went to see Amedeo Modigliani's paintings. Liked the story about his life written next to the paintings. Each time there we have to watch the classics of Finnish artists.

A near-perfectly curated exhibition of Modigliani is still going on. The museum opens at 10:00 and it is advisable to go closer to the opening as it is a popular destination. I did not expect much of Finnish art and was wrong - a great selection of national art! The museum palace impresses as it should - grand, airy and... More

I have been here many times to admire Finnish classical art, but this time I’m here to see the art of the Jewish-Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani. I liked the paintings of Modigliani very much. This time I didn’t had time to once again admire the Finnish classical art. It must be to the next time.

When I visited this art museum it was showing a fantastic Modigliani retrospective. I also had time for a quick look at some of the historical Finnish works, which looked interesting. The one drawback of this art museum was the number of stairs, with a lift not immediately obvious.

This is the most central museum in Helsinki. However, it is quite expensive for the collection it shows. I do not recomend it.

This is a beautiful building which respects the art that is displayed there. You can see the most beautiful paintings of Finnish art and artists, as well as other painters. Changing exhibitions are also often interesting. Definitely the best art museum in Helsinki.
