Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic experience. Not uncomfortably cold. (We live in a very cold climate though). The bar is an experience. The Christmas area is beautiful. We lived the igloos and reindeer beds. There is a little area with small slides of ice. Best park are the sled dogs and the dogsled track. Highly recommend this activity.

This is a fun spot to spend some time in the center. At certain hours, visited only have to pay for the entry fee, there will be an instructor to help and watch around. The cafe, Jääpuisto, is a good place to sit, chill and watch family and friends ski. I had a coffee with a cheese sandwich which had a good taste but were expensive, I paid €10. WiFi connection is also available in addition to small lockers.

We went skating on a cold afternoon in December. It was really nice to skate outside. The cost is small with it being €6 each to rent skates and then €6 (children €3) for admission. Very fun but very cold.

Location of this outdoor ice rink is great as it is in the city area and close to the hotel where we stayed. We hired the skates and really had fun skating there. We went to the rink in the afternoon and it was not crowded. There's a cafe so we could sit indoor watching people skate while getting a coffee.

It is in the middle of bus station and busy Kaivonkatu -street, so relaxing place to skate, not at all! It is packed with people and you barely have room to skate for your self, because you constantly have to be careful of kids and teens who are bumbing into you. Though, you can skate with the music, which is something there isn't in the school ice rinks. After the visit you can easily catch the train or bus to home, as it is so close to the station.
Good thing is that you can rent skates, if you haven't tried it, or have a hot cup of tea in the indoor part.

As many other town in this time of the year they have a icepark where People can exercise or have a Nice time on skating. I was going around this park twice and both time it was a single man training. Where was the kids? It 50 meter from the Railway station With a lot of Nice building around. Maybe kids and Family think it should be more spring time feeling and not ice since we soon was in april. But Nice that the People of Helsinki and guest could have this time of Activity.

The Ice Park is centrally located right next to the central railway station. It is open from December until end of March.
There is also a cafe to relax after the skating or just looking other skaters.
Before skating you have to buy a ticket (3-6€) from the ticket booth. You can rent the skates from the Ice Park. Helmets and helping sleds can be borrowed free of charge.

Visited just before New Year’s Eve, location is awesome just right in the CBD only about 5mins walk from the Hotel Kamp.
Kids had a ball skating around , we hired all the gear and we had no issues with the price, I thought it was quiet reasonable.
As it was cold for these aussies we warmed ourselves up with an awesome shot of vokoda or two!
Nice little snacks for kids when finished skating.
Can highly recommend this, great for people watching too.

When I checked into my hotel on 28th of Dec 2016, I asked the receptionist what all can I do in town. Apart from the usual tourist stuff he also mentioned that I could try the ice skating in the heart of the city. Though I am never tried skating ever in my life it was a treat to watch other enjoy in the rink. It’s a little pricey for a budget traveler like me but convenient and fun to watch others. There were also skates for rent just in case you wish to explore this un-chartered arena.
It’s really nice and centrally located place to go ice-skating and spend your evening with friends and family especially kids, if you are not in for skating be the guest at the nearby cafeteria next door. I enjoyed sipping my coffee ad watching everyone skate in the winters of December 2016. Overall a nice place to spend a good evening.

One minute from our hotel in central Helsinki. If you don't skate, buy a coffee and watch the world go round, if you do it's a strange experience at first but really enjoyable. Good value. Check opening times.
