We were rewarded with some very interesting history of Finland after we figured out where the entrance and ticket office were located. Displays are first class and information is easily available in three languages. I particularly enjoyed the special photography exhibit.

This museum is in need of a little modernisation, and tells the story of Finland from early ice age to modern day. The basement ice age exhibition is a highlight but the rest is worth a visit. Signage is in Finnish, Swedish and English.

If the travel posters were still on exhibit I'd give the place an excellent rating, as it was one of the best, most interesting displays I've seen.

Housed in a building that looks like a chapel, this museum is charmingly entertaining. I enjoyed the prehistory of Finland section with all the exhibits accompanied by helpful explanations in English. The Come to Finland special exhibition which hopefully will be made permanent is a...More

The most likable part was the exhibition on tourism posters in Finland. The permanent collections are poorly displayed and inadequately lit. And some of the rooms were closed for renovation. There is an interactive section but it is for 10-year olds and the technology is...More
