Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited this museum with a group and, wisely, we were split up into two manageable sized groups. This is a more or less normal house museum with almost everything left as it was upon the death of Baron Gustav Mannerheim. I enjoyed the many hunting trophies but that may not be for everyone. I was disappointed photos were not allowed but I did get a couple postcards of the interior while I was there.

Very interesting museum opening a new angle to the iconic Finnish military and state leader’s life. During the guided tour you will learn about Mannerheim’s family and personal life in this home museum.

Very interesting to visit the home of Marshall Mannerheim, a gentleman who played a major role in Finnish wartime history. Excellent guiding and interesting stories regarding the objects and the building.

You walk into Mannerheim's house, nothing less. An amazing experience that I would suggest you complement with a visit to the café Mannerheim had in Hanko, Finland's most southern town that is located at around 130 kms away from Helsinki.

Mannerheim Museum is the home of Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, Marshal of Finland. He is a very well known Finnish statesman and military officer who lived in this house 1924-1951.
The museum depicts Marshal Mannerheim's home as it was in the early 1940s, with the rooms furnished in an original way with the exception of three exhibition rooms.
The museum is only accessed with a guided one-hour tour. Tours are arranged as visitors arrive.
The easiest way to get to the museum is to climb the stairs up from the shore opposite the Statue of Peace.

An old mansion in a prestigious old part of Helsinki filled with a collection of paraphernalia from accross the globe (asian antiques & arts, hunting trophés, and yes, a tiger as a rug), this home of a military leader and 6th president of Finland is fascinating and atmospheric to walk through. The history behind his collections is expertly and engagingly narrated by the fantastic tour guides always showing you around the house when you go there, a truly devoted staff. Highly recommended!

Situated about half a mile from the market hall following the coast it has few signs directing you to it but do persist as it is an excellent visit. Only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and shows both the lovely house as it was when Marshall Mannerheim lived there but also his life as a soldier and statesman. It is also a snapshot of Finnish life. We enjoyed the visit. Saga the English speaking guide was fantastic and knowledgeable.

What a wonderful museum/house. It contains so much history and culture. This Finnish man who had quite a life. He brought items from around the world, from all his journeys, to his home here in Helsinki. Most of them on display here. The guide was very informative, you could tell he new his history and liked talking about it, excellent!
What a remarkable man Mannerheim was, I understand why he means so much to history and to the Finnish people.

Is there a schedule of tours in particular languages? I am trying to understand the timing of the English language tour so that we can make the most of our time in Helsinki.

The groups are fairly small, and they are flexible - they adjust the languages to fit the people turning up.
