Spend a nice day at Linnanmäki
Jul 2019 • Couples
Linnanmäki amusement park in Helsinki delivers every time. My favorite is the old wooden roller coaster ride. For a lovely view over Helsinki you should also step into Kingi. If you're not afraid of being upsidedown, give Ukko a go!

Very expensive and crowded
Aug 2019
A warning: Linnanmäki Amusement Park is very expensive. Not only the tickets are expensive (39 euros per person and there are no discounts to anyone) but also the food is. The portions are also super small, take heed and take some extra food with you if you plan to stay there a whole day. The park itself is very small and is packed with people during summertime, so prepare for long lines and a lot of waiting. There are a few decent rides, a couple of rollecoasters and rides for children, but I personally didn't find them to be anything special and the workers seem to be rather tired and bored. The park is very clean though.

Free entry with paid rides
Oct 2019
Easily accesible from public transport (train or tram) or on foot (like us all the way from city centre on foot), Linnanmaki is free entry with many rides targetting mainly kids and a few roller coasters for those thrill seekers.

We decided to walk around the park to see what rides were good before purchasing tickets at the kiosks. The ticket bundles come in different packs and bundles to cater for different options (unlimited rides, one-use on some selected rides, family tickets, etc) . There were some kids' rides that do not require any tickets.

Queue times on popular rides (several roller coasters) during our visit on a Saturday afternoon were not overly crazy like at Universal Studios or Disneyland with maximum of 20min.

There were plenty of eateries and theme park food carts scattered around the park and several shops. All in all, it could be a good day for families with kids but for adult thrill seekers perhaps a maximum of a few hours is sufficient to try all thrill rides.

Excellent amusement park, free entry and some free rides too - and ride Taiga!
Aug 2019
Linnanmäki is an amusement park in Helsinki that is well worth visiting, and even if you don't want to ride, it is free to enter and sample the atmosphere. They even have nine FREE rides such as the 4D cinema, panorama sightseeing tower, carousel and a number of rides for small children.

For the thrill-seekers there are eight roller coasters to try out ranging from the historic 1951 wooden scenic railway to the brand new attraction Taiga, which is attracting rave reviews from roller coaster enthusiasts and is definitely worth a try. The rides and attractions can be enjoyed using individual ride tickets, books of tickets or wristbands, and the lines are generally quite short so you can really get your money's worth.

As city parks go, this is one of the best in Europe, and is highly recommended if you enjoy thrill rides or want to treat the family to some good old-fashioned fun. The park can be accessed on foot via public transport with a Hop On Hop Off bus stop 10 minutes walk away near the Olympic stadium, and city buses and trams stop close by. The main railway station is 15 minutes walk from the park.

Classic theme amusement park with friendly staff
Oct 2019
Linnanmaki is much more than just an amusement park. It is a mix of classic amusement park and circus without animals but with rides and candies. Nice areas and nice details. The amusement park is well thought out and well planned. And gives its visitors a good impression. Combine roller coasters with the popcorn factory.

Linnanmaki, a paradise with all the fantastic rides and carousels, a fantastic park full of fun things to do for families with children and for everyone else.

For those who are running out of time and maybe only have time to stay 1-2 hours in the park, I recommend following rides:

Maisemajuna - trains tour around the park from above.

Vuoristorata - the park's most popular ride is the wooden roller coaster built in 1951.

Rinkeli - thw large ferris wheel spins riders in a large circle. Great view.

Hurjakuru - an exciting water adventure where round rafts take you down a raging torrent. Open during summer months.

In comparison to the other Nordic capitals' theme parks, Linnanmaki is really good.
Free entrance admission and several of the rides are free as well.
Friendly and happy staff everywhere you go.
Highly recommended!

You can reach the park by the hopon-hopoff buses, Citysightseeing/Strömma busstop 15, CityTour busstop 18. From Linnanmaki to Viking Line or Tallink-Silja terminals it takes about 30 minutes by tram, by taxi about 15 minutes.

Free entry and several free rides - The kids loved it
Aug 2019
We didn't know much about the park, but turned up just before opening and were pleasantly surprised by what was on offer. There are several free rides and various pricing strategies for the others that carry a fee (all-in wristband, individual ride payment or discounted ticket bundles). We opted for the ticket bundle of 6 which was goodvalue and perfect to split between two children to limit the time spent in the park. We did visit on a Saturday, but at no point were the queues longer than 10-15 minutes long, which was a welcome surprise.

Taiga and Iik-Week
Sep 2019
Went on Taiga for the first time yesterday, we wanted to wait till Iik-Week (the horror nights) to visit Linnanmäki. It was just epic, absolutely mind-blowing! Really a world-class coaster, and so intense and full of surprises.

I love Iik-Week, and since its start in 2016 there have been improvements every year. This year there were a lot of fun new surprises -- the clown tunnel, a zombie-infested nuclear silo, and a haunted dinner to name a few. I especially enjoyed the Circus of Horrors and the Laboratory in the water tower! Great stuff. I wish the wandering zombies from previous years would return, and I hope the event continues to grow in scope, it's fantastic. I love the theme weeks, and always return for Iik Week and the Carnival of Lights.

Linnanmäki gets five stars for atmosphere, long opening times, environmental outlook, and beautiful & inventive layout. They really make the most of the available space, staff are always helpful and friendly. My favorite rides at the park are Taiga and Salama, but every attraction is worth visiting :)
