Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The total length of Helsinki Waterfront Trail (Rantareitti in Finnish) is 130 kilometres. However, you can walk it in short parts. So far they have signposts for the Inner City Trail (Kantakaupungin kierros in Finnish). It is a 15-kilometre circle route in the city center. However, they are going to add signposts also for other routes: Seurasaari, Lauttasaari, Vanhankaupunginlahti Bay, Laajasalo and Eastern Helsinki. These shoreline routes are ideal for walking, jogging and taking beautiful seaside photos. All routes will be completely open for everybody and also easily reachable by public transport.
I walked Lauttasaari Trail. The trail is open but there aren't any signposts yet. However, you won't lose your way. Just follow the shoreline. The trail is extremely beautiful. I started my walk from Lauttasaari Beach and walked to the south along the shoreline. I saw Park Merikylpylän Puisto, Park Särkiniemenpuisto, Kokkokallio Cliff, Itälahti Bay, Veijarivuori Beach and Lauttasaari Outdoor Recreational Park. Then I followed streets Veneentekijäntie and Vattuniemen puistotie to Park Aimo Tukiaisen puisto and Park Kokkapuisto. After that I walked to Lauttasaari Lookout Spot and Kotikallio Cliff. This route was about six kilometres. In addition I walked from the city center to Lauttasaari Beach (about four kilometres) and from Kotikallio Cliff to the city center (about three kilometres). However, it is possible to take a metro train to Lauttasaari or a bus (number 21 or 21N) to Särkiniementie bus stop near Lauttasaari Beach.
There are extremely beautiful spots for photographing, admiring the scenery or enjoying a picnic on Lauttasaari Trail. Restaurant Paseo Cafe & Grill is a nice rest stop near Veijarivuori Beach. You can swim there, too. There are also some war memorials on the route: ruins from the Crimean War and the areal defense memorial. You see also many sailboats of boat club Helsingfors Segelclubb. I really recommend this route for everybody who is interested in walking and taking photos.
