Great local experience

Go local here and do as locals do. No-frills rather basic sauna, with a great service, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. Sweat as much as you can!

If You want really unique sauna experience, this is your place. One of the oldest and bests public sauna in Helsinki. Heated by meter tall birch logs here you can sit and talk to people from every walk of life. Here everyone is equal. There are nowadays really, really nice new saunas in Helsinki, but for real working mans sauna,... More

Great place to experience the finnish sauna traditional. It is a sauna where locals go so it is not super fancy but very clean and cozy. You can rent a towel (total with entrance fee 14 euros), there are lockers and a shower room and the sauna itself. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend going to Arla... More

As the old saying says "Sauna is the poor's pharmacy". This sauna is a hot medicine, a perfect therapy for cold dark times. Free coffee, water and tea. Open to everybody, specially foreigners and refugees ♡ Long life to Arla Sauna.

Everyone very nice and helpful. The birch twigs were amazing experience. I highly recommend. Sauna hot ...men separate from women but everyone cools down outside together. Very relaxed atmosphere . Lockers with key.

Spent a really lovely afternoon with my sister here. The sauna was excellent, and very kind helpful attendants when we got there. Separate saunas for men and women, shampoo and body wash, even some cherry tomatoes on a table in the locker room. It was an excellent afternoon after a cold morning walking around the city.

My Finnish friend recommended Sauna Arla in Helsinki's up-and-coming Kallio district as a typical (but not touristy) sauna. I paid my entry and made my way to the changing room. Sadly they were out of vasta/vihta, the twigs with which to hit oneself in the sauna. You get a key to a locker for your personal items. There are also... More

First of all this is not a spa! And in my humble opinion it's not a common Finnish sauna. This is an old Finnish cellar sauna. It's pretty rugged but if you like Aki Kaurismäki feeling, you are in the right place! Pretty similar to Harju's sauna. Expensive. Consider also Yrjönkadun uimahalli.

I enjoyed my visit to this Sauna. As others have said, it's a bit older, but is clean and it has character. It was intimidating walking through the gate, but the attendent immediately realized I was a foreigner who didn't speak a word of Finnish, and guided me to the change room and showed me the Sauna area. Very hot,... More

Builded at the ground floor of normal building my sister and I weren't sure of the place but once in the kind and welcome staff explained how it worked. Very traditionally, not to be called old, men and women are separate but can be met in the front outside-yard for a chilling, while drinking a beer or...
