As part of a cruise port adventure we went to the Nuuksio white reindeer farm to meet their herd of reindeer and it was super fun. If you have a chance to go see Oscar the leader and the rest of his herd I would highly recommend doing it. It was fun and informative and a really nice easy hike to their sight. They had great staff, very friendly and informative.

This place is Very easy to get to - 50 minute in total by public transport (5.50euros) from the Helsinki city center, but you are in amazingly beautiful nature. We took the train U and then the 85 bus and got down at haukkalammentle and walked to hauptkalampi and then haltia (where we got back on the same bus for the way back) . The walk is about 7 km on a beautiful trail across lakes hills and Nordic forest. We left at 9 am and were back in Helsinki by 3 - with lots of time to stroll before our 6 pm ferry to Talinn! Nice tip: you can leave your suitcases in the main Helsinki railway station for a small fee.

It is 1 hour away from Helsinki City Center. We where there in the summer, great trails that are easily walkable with kids. Great Finnish nature, you may jump into a lake or get some food with you and make a barbecue at one of the huts along the way.

When you're visiting the Southern part of Finland or just Helsinki, please make sure to plan a day trip to Nuuksio NP. The nature is breathtaking and the trails are very clear and well maintained! Catch a train from Helsinki Helsingfors to Espoo and get on the bus to Nuuksio. Please look at the bus schedule carefully, because the area can be quite desolated and it is a bit to far to walk back to espoo. But nevertheless, please make time to visit this astonishing pearl of Finland!

Nuuksio park has the most beautiful sights that a forest could give you. Lakes, hills, trees are so beautiful. And you can choose from so many routes to walk. I highly recommend the yellow route

Absolutely loved it here! We had from 8-5pm in Helsinki and ventured by train and bus to Nuuksio. Thank heavens people were friendly, so we found it. If you're in the port, take the train from Helsinki to Espoo station (5 stops?). You can pay once you're on the train - get the round trip ticket because it pays for the next bus and round trip for both. Then take bus 85/85A to Nuuksionpaa to get to visitor center in Haukkkalampi. The bus drops you off on the side of the road and it's a 2 km walk to the main entrance.

Once you're in the park, there's blue, red, yellow trails - extremely easy to navigate. We did the red trail around the lake and I took the blue trail up the steep steps (not that steep - like walking 5 flights on the cruise ship!) to get views atop the mountains. Absolutely quiet and breathtaking. There's a visitor's hut if you follow the signs that go to all the colored trails and a picnic table to rest.

We were there in beginning Sept and I needed a sweater. We're also from Phoenix, so we're big weenies when it comes to anything below 80 degrees F :) Bring snacks and water, not much there. But if you like being in the middle of nowhere and enjoying nature, this is your place!

The trip was truly wonderful. There is no requirement of minimum participants (unlike many other tours arranged in Finland). I was lucky to be the only one on the tour that day, which means I have my personal guide Matteo, who turned out to be extremely nice and experienced. The national park is 45 minutes driving away from Helsinki, with beautiful natural scenery.

It was a comprehensive experience of discovering various plants, animals, geographic features which you won't find in central Helsinki. It was also a lot of fun to swim in a beautiful Finnish lake and enjoy the fresh air. I spent about three weeks in Finland and that was one of the most unforgettable days.

It has been one of the most unforgettable experiences I ever had! It was my first time swimming all the way across a lake! Marti, the guide and co-owner of Natura Viva showed me how natural can be to swim across lakes! This tour is more about sightseeing and to get a first real experience in contact with Finland natural forests and lakes which are all over! Lakes in the forest make the tour hiking experience amazing because of the scenery which I consider it to be unique, compelling and very attractive.

I recommend it for everyone wishing to get to have an experience in the Finish Forest for few hours! Besides, if you are brave enough you will get the opportunity to swimming across a lake which may have a width of around 160 meters! The water in the lake is not cold and the feeling of swimming in this lake is an experience which only if you try to will be able to feel what I felt when I was there! It is about peace and rest what you get when you swim in such an astonishing lake!

If I were you I would give it a try! When I get the opportunity I will be back!

3-hour day-trip to a national park gave me a first-hand experience of great Finish lifestyle that no guide book would show me. The experienced guide is well-versed in trails, inhabitants and local plants in the park. Fun, informative and very Finish. If you're adventurous, I strongly recommend you bright a swimming wear. A beautiful fresh water lake is waiting for you.

The place is great. A lot of lakes, nice nature. All well organised, marked and very enjoyable experience. A lot of blueberries. Well organised public transport. The best part of our (south part) finnish experience.
