We booked this tour independently of our cruise ship, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. One of our tour guides, Outi, was promptly at the appointed place to pick up our party of six, and was friendly, prepared and reassuring on our way to the launch site. Once there, our second guide, Toni, joined us, and we began the tour. Both Outi and Toni were thorough and patient while ensuring that we were all comfortable and capable in the kayaks. While kayaking, all of our group enjoyed having easy, informational conversation with both guides, and we learned a great deal about Finland....everything from info. about their educational system, to housing, to native Finnish foods, to geographical info., etc....Toni and Outi answered everything we asked, with extreme thoroughness, but managed to make our conversations feel like friendly chats, rather than professorial lectures. The kayaking venue was beautiful, on a small bay outside of the city (the original venue was deemed - thankfully! - too choppy that day), and easy to navigate. A highlight of the tour was eating lunch on a small island, complete with yummy sandwiches, juice, water, and then, a delightful introduction to a drink comprised of the sea buckthorn berry. (Lovely!) We were initially, briefly disappointed that we were encouraged to leave behind our cells and cameras; Outi and Toni were simply ensuring that those items didn't get wet. However, to our very pleasant surprise, Outi informed us that she would take pictures of us and our tour, and then - free of charge! - email them to us. She did so promptly (in all, she took about 20 pictures!), and went even further by including other written information about some of the topics about which we had expressed interest while kayaking. Upon driving us back to the drop-off point, she was also full of info. about possible souvenirs we were interested in purchasing. Please know that Outi did NOT press us to feel like we needed to purchase a thing, she was merely answering our questions. She helped us to find a local, quality area in which to purchase some excellent, native items, as well as to sample some traditional foods. Fun!

In all, we couldn't have asked for more from these two guides, or from the Natura Viva company.

What a great time we had! Our family had been on a cruise and needed a break from the crowded museums and palaces. Nurtra Viva was exactly what the doctor ordered. We had a private tour with Marti, paddling and swimming around the gorgeous water-ways and islands located just outside the city. The gear and kayaks were great and practically brand new. For those who have never kayaked before, the Natura Viva team gave great instructions that made it so easy and comfortable for the least experienced people in our group. This is great activity for kayakers of all levels.
What's really nice about this company is that its a small, family run operation with three generations involved. It does not surprise me that Nutura Viva has received such a high rating on Trip Advisor. Without a doubt, this was the most enjoyable experience of a very memorable vacation.
Ps. Marti's wife makes the best sandwiches!

We were in Helsinki on business and added a free day to the trip. This was by far the highlight of our trip - the owners are wonderful, the tour is interesting and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.

We had a day-long cruise stop in Helsinki in August. We decided that instead of the usual city tour we would do something different, and after reading reviews here decided on a short paddling trip. Our guide Ilkka was excellent, very knowledgeable about the area and of course all things paddling-related. We were picked up promptly in Helsinki, had a good time paddling in the small islands of the archipelago, and enjoyed a short lunch stop. Ilkka brought us back to the city in good time and gave great advice on areas to have coffee and shop. A thoroughly enjoyable half-day!

Our family (including two teenage boys and a set of grandparents) recently had the pleasure of using this company for an excursion during a Baltic cruise. This provided a nice relief to the regular tourist sight-seeing requirements. We were met at the pier and driven roughly 30 minutes to their location wherein the kayaks were loaded and we then traveled a couple of minutes to the put-in site. Marti did a great job of placating any nerves and we were quickly on our way. Kayaking was easy and relaxing. Once they got the hang of it, even the grandparents were moving through the water with ease. Fortunately our weather was great which was helpful. We stopped on an island and had lunch that was provided and a local drink. Marti took photos with his camera and then emailed the website to us afterward so that we could see and print them. Upon our return trip, part of our group got dropped off in the city to take some pictures and walk around while the remainder of the group returned to the trip. This excursion provided a nice respite to an otherwise busy cruise.

This is a family company, and they run a fantastic business. The van arrived at the meeting spot about 10 miuntes early, making it easy to know we were in the right place. My husband and I had never been kayaking, and we were fine on the 3 hour day tour. The tour itself was beautiful! They also provide lunch on an island that you stop at to enjoy with some surprises! They have waterproof gear if needed, but I suggest you bring your own waterproof jacket as it may be more comfortable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the family that runs this company. They are great! The company also has equipment you can rent if you are a mroe experienced kayaker and want to go out alone.

Thank you for your review! It was great having you on our tour. Now that you are experienced kayakers, you can come back for a longer tour. We hope to see you again. Best Regards, Ilkka and Natura Viva staff

My girlfriend and I wrapped up our European vacation in Helsinki and we scheduled a 3-hour kayaking adventure with these folks. It was a highlight of our trip. Our guide was not only an accomplished kayaker, he was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding flora and fauna. It was just the three of us out on the water and the beautiful scenery is something I'll never forget. If you are going to Helsinki and you want a day out of the city, this is the thing to do. Highest recommendation.

Chose this trip as a break from the city touring we had been doing on our Baltic Sea cruise. What a great choice! This was the best 3 hours of paddling I have ever done! Martti and Outi were phenomenal guides and the group was limited to 8 people making it a very personal experience. Martti was very informative about Helsinki and Martti and Outi did a great job guiding us through the islands affording us the opportunity to see the area from a more natural perspective. The kayaks were of great quality and we were provided with all the gear needed to keep us dry. Food and drink were also provided as well as transportation to and from the ship with the option to be dropped off in town to get in a little shopping before heading back to the cruise ship. If going to Helsinki, be sure to select this as your number one thing to do!

Superb place for our first time supboarding. Chris was a great guide. We used the Riptide boards which apparently are good for beginners. Thanks!

Great place for kayaking but I am a bit concerned about customer service. Staff were friendly and welcoming on a previous visit but yesterday was a bit disappointing. There is a sea plane in the bay and it came out and started preparing to take off as we were returning. We stopped and waited for the aeroplane to take off and arrived on the beach seven minutes late. Their first concern was to say it was twelve minutes (it wasn't, it was seven) and that they have to charge another €20. It makes my safety feel a bit cheap when I am on the water in a kayak with a sea plane taking off. Not an ideal situation for a sports club. It is a pity because otherwise it is a great place. I hope that they will address the issue.
