Had a fantastic private kayak trip under the expert guidance of Tiina. The initial briefing was thorough but swift and the paddling itself was stunning.

The four of us all have different levels of experience and everyone enjoyed it. 3 hours was just about the perfect duration.

The facilities on land are also great. Clean, secure etc.

Would highly recommend this excursion to anyone wanting to see the beauty of the islands around Helsinki.

Just back from an unforgettable two day kayaking trip, guided by the wonderful Sanna and Juha. What an experience - rain, sunshine, wind, sauna, swimming, laughter, great food, great company and a big of paddling too.
They listened to us, and tailored the trip to match our capabilities, our requests and the weather.
We were always in safe hands.

We had a two day kayak trip around the islands in the Helsinki area. So amazing - excellent kit provided and tuition. The area we were in was breathtakingly beautiful, we went wild camping, went to a sauna on a small remote island and were served gorgeous food. The kayaking was superb. Our guides Juha and Sana was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - lovely people. 100% recommended.

OK, two beginner kayakers going on a Baltic Sea cruise, decided we would need a break from all the palaces and cathedrals of Russia and the prior ports, so we took a chance and booked with the Paddling Center, after a reassuring e-mail from Martti, the owner. Boy, are we ever glad!!! It was a beautiful, relaxing afternoon, being outside among the islands of the archipelago! At first we were a bit nervous and intimidated, but under Martti's excellent expertise and guidance, we were soon skimming through the water like pro's! (At least we felt like it!) He takes extra care of those who are new to paddling, and really helped convey the joy of kayaking. Even putting on the safety gear had us all laughing! The equipment provided is excellent. We had the possibility of rain, and all were given special rain ponchos made to keep water out of the kayak, and keep us dry. Luckily, we did not have to test it! No rain, and we did not get even a bit wet kayaking, because we were taught the proper way to paddle. We thought we might be a bit sore afterward, but had no problems with that either.

I would suggest, if you are even CONSIDERING this tour option, (and you must be if you are reading my review), go ahead and book it, no matter what your skill level. Trust me, you will be glad you did!!!

We loved our kayaking adventure with Natura Viva. We were on a 9-day cruise and it was so refreshing to get out in the gorgeous Finnish natural beauty after all those museums, Churches, and towns. Matteo was a fantastic guide. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a nice light lunch, and they even made a gluten free sandwich for me. We got a little wet on our arms, but the skirt thing for the kayak kept us dry from the waist down. (We booked directly with Natura Viva, but we saw a group that scheduled through the cruise ship at the same place, but they paid 3-4 times more than going direct!) It was easy to walk into town from the port to meet at the Museum to be picked up by Natura Viva. It really was a highlight of our trip!

I was a little nervous about how this would turn out. It was a cold day with wind, and we had a private tour of 9 people. I was worried we would be cold and miserable. The exact opposite happened. We loved every minute. We were actually quite warm and had the time of our lives. Kata and Emmi were the best guides ever. They kept us laughing and enjoying ourselves. They fed us a lovely lunch with a special treat. I would recommend this to anyone.

My friend and I decided to see Helsinki by kayak organized by Natura Viva. It was an exhilarating experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the adventure even though it poured down with rain, the sea was less than calm, to decribe it mildy, and the wind was stonger than forecasted. It made no diiference to this fantastic sight seeing adventure.

The impressive instructor, the Italian helper and the adminstrator were absolutely superb as were the facilities which included all necessary equipment, lockers, changing rooms, food and drink.

The organization was faultless and therefore excellent.

I have never written a review before but I felt on this occasion I had to express my astonishment to the most enjoyable adventure I have had for many years.

I would thoroughly recommend this to all people.

Hi, Thank you very much for your review! We were glad to have you kayaking with us. Hopefully the next time you come, you will also be able to enjoy the sunshine. But maybe the weather made the experience even more unforgetable. We hope to see you again. Paddling Regards, Ilkka, Martti, Matteo and the rest of our staff

I did the kayak tour.....and it was fantastic. We were picked up in central Helsinki and taken to Vuosaari (approx 30 mins) in a minibus. Everything was perfectly organised - great instructions, really good equipment, and an excellent two hours or so out on the water. It was quite windy, so we had to work hard at times, but our guide was very helpful (and towed a couple of the group for a bit when they had difficulties). The packed lunch was simple, but tasty - especially the Sea buckthorn berry juice! The coastline around Eastern Helsinki is very beautiful, and the little cafe at the rental centre should be a destination in its own right!

We booked this tour independently of our cruise ship, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. One of our tour guides, Outi, was promptly at the appointed place to pick up our party of six, and was friendly, prepared and reassuring on our way to the launch site. Once there, our second guide, Toni, joined us, and we began the tour. Both Outi and Toni were thorough and patient while ensuring that we were all comfortable and capable in the kayaks. While kayaking, all of our group enjoyed having easy, informational conversation with both guides, and we learned a great deal about Finland....everything from info. about their educational system, to housing, to native Finnish foods, to geographical info., etc....Toni and Outi answered everything we asked, with extreme thoroughness, but managed to make our conversations feel like friendly chats, rather than professorial lectures. The kayaking venue was beautiful, on a small bay outside of the city (the original venue was deemed - thankfully! - too choppy that day), and easy to navigate. A highlight of the tour was eating lunch on a small island, complete with yummy sandwiches, juice, water, and then, a delightful introduction to a drink comprised of the sea buckthorn berry. (Lovely!) We were initially, briefly disappointed that we were encouraged to leave behind our cells and cameras; Outi and Toni were simply ensuring that those items didn't get wet. However, to our very pleasant surprise, Outi informed us that she would take pictures of us and our tour, and then - free of charge! - email them to us. She did so promptly (in all, she took about 20 pictures!), and went even further by including other written information about some of the topics about which we had expressed interest while kayaking. Upon driving us back to the drop-off point, she was also full of info. about possible souvenirs we were interested in purchasing. Please know that Outi did NOT press us to feel like we needed to purchase a thing, she was merely answering our questions. She helped us to find a local, quality area in which to purchase some excellent, native items, as well as to sample some traditional foods. Fun!

In all, we couldn't have asked for more from these two guides, or from the Natura Viva company.
