Great park for pick nick

During Vappu (1 st of May) you can hardly find a spot for your blanket in the park area. Good place to meet people. Better wear a thicker jacket though!

i just thought it is a normal boatbridge. didn.t realize that you can board a ferry there. a friendly elderly man explained everything. it was great to sit on that bench and watch all the ferries passing the harbour.

On the 1st of May, it will be a huge picnic area. People are enjoying themselves eating and drinking. By the sea. Ullanlinna area is easily reachable by walking, near the citycenter.

A nice Island off the coast from Helsinki. You can get here using the local public transport service (a ferry from kauppatori) which go regulalry. Museums are not really worth the price but as there is free entry to the island it is a nice place to wonder or to have a summer picnic.

Enjoy a stroll through Ullanlinna streets, visit small shops and cafes and head down to the marina and Cafe Carusel to where all the locals go on sunny days!

Jugeng-style patrician houses, little parks and the sea nearby. Ullanlinna is full of nice cafés, little restaurants (I recommend the delighfull restaurant Juuri next to the Design-museum) , boutiques, antique shops, etc. Walk from center (Esplanadi) along the Korkeavuorenkatu -street, visit the Desing-museum to get an overview on finnish design during past decades and continue Your way towars the sea.... One of the poshest of Helsinki areas, there is a yacht marina of sorts in the summer months. Three excellent cafes, Cafe Ursula is a bit pricey but has decent cakes, Mattolaituri is so far only open in summer but has a brilliant terrace that is a veritable suntrap, and Carusel, which also has a nice terrace but is by...
