Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For those keen of architecture and design it s a must do priority in Helsinki
Wonderful exquise house and interiors showing private life of Alvar Aalto and wife, work place and garden . The very beginning of minimalist Scandinavian design in the late 1920s 1930s . Love it except entrance fees exrrem6 expensive

It s nice to get to see the small but beautiful, comfortably and well designed house. The tour is informative but not too lecturing and the staff is available for more in-depth questions. The house is located in a residential area but well connected by tram 4.

A highly interesting cultural site for those who are passionate about architecture and Alvar Aalto. This home-museum opens a new window to the architect’s life and provides the visitor a different sneak peak to both the era and the personal life of Aalto than other places filled with his works.
Very good guided tour and some time of your own to check the site both inside and outside. Really enjoyed the tour in English.

Toured here after touring the studio; the house is more impressive, so I would see the studio first and save the best for last. Well preserved, still full of Aalto's furnishings. There's a roughly 30 minute tour and then you can wander back through the house and take pictures at your leisure. Well worth the money. Recommend that you buy tickets ahead of time, as tours were selling out.

Beautiful house that is kept in original condition. You can visit it only with prebooked excursion which is actually nice because the guide shows small smart details and elements that might go unnoticed otherwise. The area in general is nice for a walk as well.

Fascinating view of the home of an important designer. It is fun to see the connections with designers of the same period from other countries. Worth the trip, and you get a great view of Helsinki from the bus on the way. Be sure to get there on time. They don't open the doors until the moment. And then the doors close again.

Stopped by the Aalto house during a business trip to Helsinki and I'm glad I did. Great visit for anyone interested in design or architecture. The house and studio tours were well facilitated with enough depth to be interesting without it being overwhelming. Quintessential Finnish & Nordic design.

I was able to get the combined tour day-of without a reservation however they did sell out. I recommend reservations in advance. The neighborhood around the house/studio made for a pleasant walk. If you like longer walks, you can take the tram to the house then walk back to the city (~60 min) stopping by Seurasaari.

On a rainy day, we visited the Aalto House after coming from the Studio. Do it in this order I think is a nice choice. It is nice to hear the stories and see where Alto lived and find some pieces of other artists of his choice. The space for covering your shoes is very small as well as the entrance, but this is logic because of the actual purpose of the building. The guide has a particular sense of humor and although the ticket price seems expensive to other places it is nice to support Alto´s foundation.
