From the Market Square, I took Tram #2 to reach this attraction. Two friendly locals told me that they were getting off at this stop and would show me the way.

The church is underground. As I approached it, I saw big rocks neatly stacked up to form its walls. Entrance fee is 5 euros for adults, no discounts. Tne decorations are simple, the inside walls are big pieces of rocks put together. There is an organ on the left side of the church.

At 2:00 p.m the organist started playing the organ. FREE, short concert for all of us visiting this church at that time.

Built directly into solid rock this is a unique and fascinating church well worth a visit. Its 5 euros for an adult and kids go free under 18.
It is about a 10 minute walk from Kamppi shopping center so very convenient and easy to find.

A very unique church cut out of rock with a copper dome. The architecture is very striking and the accoustics are excellent. The church is very minimalistic from inside. Check for organ timings on the church website and try to make it for that. There is a €5 entry fee

What a wonderful building. The Rock Church originally was proposed to incorporate a tower but due to pushback from the locals it has ended up a pretty well a single level construction blasted out of a rock. Inside is a marvel to just sit and contemplate the work that went into such a building. It has an air of peacefulness . It is well worth a visit.

I love visiting unique attractions and this giant circular "rock church" as it was referenced to me was simply stunning in its simplicity and beauty. Not large so easy to see it all on a short visit, and suitable for children. My daughter seemed fascinated. You feel like you're outside and inside at the same time, in nature and in a manmade structure at the same time. Beautiful to see the sunlight streaming through. Feels like you are outside and inside at the same time, part of nature and inside a manmade structure at the same time

Temppeliaukion Church, or Church of the Rock, is an architectural marvel situated in the heart of Helsinki. Carved out of solid rock, it gives a unique and stunning appearance. The interior of the church is equally impressive, with its natural lighting that filters in through the skylights and the glass walls. One of the things that struck me most about this church was its simplicity. The natural materials used throughout the space create an atmosphere that is both calming and peaceful. It validates the notion that less is more, and it's impossible not to feel a sense of serenity when you're inside.

This is definitely worth a visit if nothing else for its uniqueness.
It’s not every day you visit a church which has been built into the rocks in the middle of an open space in a residential area.
And on the inside you are actually met with a rather modern edifice with a really cool design and architecture.
I mean, your visit will not take long, and aside from going upstairs to see the balcony view and grabbing a couple of souvenirs from the little gift shop there is not much to do here but it’s still worth seeing. Also note there are no visitor toilets at this attraction.

We were recommended the rock church by a family member, and it did not disappoint.

It was not at all what I was expecting, it was incredible to look at the walls and marvel at how the church was constructed.

We took some time to wander around, look at the organ, and also to sit above overlooking the rest of the church.
