Fantastic melding of the natural environment with modern architecture leveraging local natural stone formations. Lovely acoustics as well.

Dropped in to see this as it is listed quite high on the list of things to do here on Tripadvisor. It is worth a look. Interesting architecture with 22km of wound flat bar copper making up the dome roof. The church is excavated into the rock and is quite cool.

Very cool building. Unique. Only 3euro fee. Try to visit on a day when the crew ships are not in town that is it is well in reach of all those cruiser people.

Beautiful, carved into the rock church. There was a concert there when we arrived so only a quick peak at the inside but well worth the circuitous walk to get there!

This church which was built within the rocks of the area is a marvel to see but is also a quiet place to pray and reflect.

When we visit it, there was a chorus rehearsal ongoing, we spend close to 1 hour just listening, and i must say it was a extremely relaxing time.

I have been here several times and this is a architectural wonder. Just walk in and feel it. I am sure that You are gonna love this. Of course it´s a plus if there is some kind of action, but it´s ok without it too. Even that this is a church, there is different kind of shows and performances, not... More

Thus church is architecturally interesting also for those who are not interested in religious places. In summertime weekends are not best possible time to try to visit for the church is most of the time reserved for weddings.

This was part of our tour of the city. The history behind the creation of the church is interesting. But the church is small. The crowds are large. The fact that it is built into the rock is great but there are many more incredible churches in the world than this one.
