The grounds are lovely and the greenhouses have an extensive array of plants (one of the largest collections of African violets). Definitely a break from the winter cold! The outside grounds appear quite nice, but of course there's not much to see in February when it's -3C. Would like to see it in full bloom, or have walking guided tours available.

I think the botanic gardens at Kaisaniemi are an underrated spot in Helsinki. In spring and summer there are also outside gardens to explore. The indoor glasshouses are not that large but just perfect sizes for visit. With Museum Card this is free to visit. I ended up spending here close to two hours just strolling in the gardens. As long as the COVID restrictions are on one needs to reserve timed entrance at the museum website. No queues and very few people at one time.

It's a really nice setting and peaceful to walk around these gardens. There is only one entrance which is a bit of a pain because it is on the opposite side to the city centre so you have to walk all the way around the outside fence of the gardens before you can get in.

The glasshouses of the Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden bring a tropical breeze into the winter. The four-hectare outdoor garden attracts visitors in the summertime.

The greenhouse has more than 800 different species of plants. Combined with the outdoor garden there are more than 2,800 different plants.

The greenhouses were built at the end of the 19th century. The Palm House from 1889 is the most prominent building.

Lovely place to go and reflect. It was very quiet in the winter and very warm for a cold day outside. We were not there more than an hour and it was about 15 euro but if you really like plants you may stay longer. The outside garden looked as though it would be great in the summer

The Botanical garden in Helsinki is a lovely botanical garden with a beautiful old fashioned greenhouse. Unfortunately we were there on a monday and it was closed. Anyway the garden in front is very nice. Through the glass window we could have a glance of the interior. Nearby is a large lake you can stroll along.

One of three botanic gardens in Helsinki. Being early winter, with temperatures down to freezing, it was pointless walking around the outside since nothing was growing in the cold.

The glassed greenhouses, however, looked inviting. They were relatively compact and divided into separate sections with plants from different (warmer) climates: savanna, rainforest, isolated islands, desert, etc.

There were a few explanatory notes about the evolution of plants, and in each section, there were 2 - 3 selected plants used to illustrate adaptation to climate.

Entry to the outdoor areas was free, but entry to the glass houses cost 10 euros. Good for about a one-hour walk-around. The entrance to the gardens is on the northern side, i.e. facing the river.

Visited on a Monday and bonus the glass houses were open, usually closed Mondays and there was an amazing exhibition of fungi/mushrooms. The gardens were very interesting as were the glass houses.

Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden is a nice place to visit it you have an hour or two to kill. We visited at the end of summer so didn't get to see many flowers in bloom., but overall the gardens are well looked after and the buildings surrounding the gardens are beautiful. Shame the public do not have access to the research center on the grounds, amazing Art Nouveau architecture.

The gardens are quite nice but nothing out of the ordinary. There is really only one entrance/exit so you can't walk through from one end to the other. The gardens are small but pretty. The greenhouse is well kept but nothing out of the ordinary.
